The location is perfect and the lounge has beautiful views. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel and my room were clean. However, I stayed in a single room and the en suite was the smallest I have ever seen - definitely only suited for small to medium people! I will not hesitate to stay there again.

Parking can be a problem, option to book a space. Breakfast was good but if you have a dog with you like we had, you have to go back and forth from the main breakfast room to the bar area even though it is a better view.

The Great Western Hotel is now returning to "great"in every way. Really enjoyed my recent stay. You will not find a better location than this centre piece of Oban bay. Good choice of food and drink served in a nice friendly atmosphere. The staff are also a real asset of this hotel and it is plain to see that the ownership and management are now determined to continuously improve and look after this great hotel. I look forward to returning to The Great Western Hotel as soon as I can.

The hotel was having refurbishment in the dining room, but during my stay there was no noise, and I was able to park in the main car park, and although I was going to pay the parking charges, when the staff realised I had a blue badge, they mwentioned that parking was free. Due to the dining room being closed residents were eating at the bar, and the staff were very helpful, and the food was good. My room was excellent, with a great view of the bay

Well when we arrived reception was nice they are in the middle of refurbishment just now but our room was finished beds are brand new comfortable we didn't have breakfast though. Only thing is a pain you need to book your car for parking £10 failing that across the road carpark Whick was £8 for 42 hours hotel in general you only get what you pay for and it was spot on for this hotel good view from my room

Beautiful view of the harbour located near the main road into town and very near Castle Dunollie,The rooms were clean and modern with vaulted celings and very comfortable beds however the elevator was abit clostrophobic, i would also encourage any Management reading to adjust the door tensioners so they close properly behind the guests and maybe look at the window fixings but break fast was great, haggis included and all staff friendly and hospitable, the parking was abit tight but found public car park close by next to very friendly small pub with live music which stayed open late,in all a lovely old building in a great location with friendly staff,thank you for your service
