I’ve been staying at this Muthu for many years now. The reasons for coming back have been the view, facilities and the ease of parking. Recently, the staff have remained consistent and I’ve found them to be polite, pleasant and happy to engage. We love the lounge area and the pool. Some updating could be done, but the rooms have the dated quirkiness which is appealing. It would also be nice if repeat customers were recognised for their loyalty. I’m not sure if Muthu’s systems allow for such tracking, Hiwever, another wonderful visit to Oban.

Clean & comfortable room in a beautiful building with a lovely sea view (paid extra for this, but not much). The bathroom didn't really fit the aesthetic (cheaply done up & out of date), but perfectly clean and functional, which is what matters.

I was warmly greeted by Stephanie and immediately felt welcomed. Check in was easy and we were happy with our room. It was exactly what we were expecting; quiet and comfortable. The breakfast options were tasty and satisfying. The location was also wonderful. We were able to walk to dinner and we got a surprise by being entertained by a pipe band out on the streets while walking.

I liked the breakfast and the look of the public spaces. The mattress was very stiff. The bathroom did not have wash clothes and tissues. It also did not have much surface area for placing toiletry bags nor hangers for towels and clothes. There were no plugs anywhere near the bed, so I had to run an extension cord across the room to power my CPAP.

My stay was ok. The room was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. But, I paid extra for a room with a sea view. It was a single room, which was fine, as I'm a solo traveller. However, I suppose officially it did have a sea view, but the room was at the side of the hotel, so it was only a partial seaview. This was a bit disappointing.

Must do better

For the price we paid for a Junior Suite there is plenty of room for improvement. TV didn't work until facilities fixed it the following day. Two single beds joined together doesn't make it a double bed. Fantastic view from the room until you saw a pile if scaffolding and extremely unsafe wiring on the roof.

This hotel struck me as an old-time resort hotel, something out of a movie! The rooms were gorgeous. There was a pool (which we did not use). There were several dining options, a beautiful reception and bar area, and wonderful views of the water from the lobby and from our room.

The property needs a major makeover with new paint, plumbing and furnishings. The paint choices in the reception area were loud and vulgar. The upholstery was dirty. Our room had two beautiful windows looking out onto the sea but the electricity and plumbing was 50 years old. I had to get another room to shower in because the water pressure was so bad. On the good side, the staff worked hard to make sure we had what we needed despite the deteriorating infrastructure.

Nice hotel-No Water Pressure!!

Nice hotel and excellent staff, but you need to be a powerlifter to turn the tap on in the bath as the water pressure is so poor it can take 45 minutes to fill the tub. Also if you want a shower the water comes out in a dribble, not enough to wash the shampoo out of your hair

lovely stay

Arrival was a little upsetting as we had asked for use of a wheelchair and phoned the week before to check availability, told there was no wheelchair. After a short while a solution was found and the wheelchair was usable thankfully. The room was perfect well appointed and super view of the bay. the staff were friendly and happy to help when asked only real negative was dinner service was very slow.
