This home is a history lesson. Built more than 100 years ago, you see hand-hewn beams supporting the second floor, floors made up of varying-width boards, rooms large enough for their intended purpose without empty space.
We were both intrigued and overwhelmed by the vast differences in home building then and now.
That era saw families and neighbors coming together to fill a need. Everyone pitched in, bringing whatever expertise they had, to get the job done.
All of the basics are provided, clean and available. If you need hot tubs and room service, however, keep driving to the city.
