"Great place for families visiting Shimoda and Izu Peninsula. Definitely a hotel catering to Japanese tourists, but with a little Japanese and respect the staff is very friendly and works with you. Some of the staff spoke some English. Bathhouse, arcade, and hotel amenities were great. Walking distance to everything downtown and easy spot to drive to other locations. Would definitely stay here again with family on vacation. "

"My spouse and I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Izukyu! I'm already planning to come back later in the summer. My Japanese is limited so we really appreciated the staff doing their best to explain policies in English. We stayed in a Japanese style room, it was huge and had everything we needed and more - and the view of the ocean was fantastic! We also took advantage of the private onsen, highly recommend. Buffet breakfast had a ton of great options, and we appreciated how large the dining room was. There is a 7/11 next door and the beautiful beach is right across the street! I highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in this area!"

"The guesthouse hosts are all very helpful! They drive me from the pier. They prepare simple maps. The room is clean, facilities are good, got kitchen, washing machine, hair dryer etc. Stores are near, got bike rental, restaurants and store. Very convenient. The hosts are so thoughtful to inform me that my return ship is cancelled, they told me the alternative ship schedule and drive me to the pier, help me with everything."
