De bedden lagen niet lekker, ze waren te zacht, dus ik had slecht geslapen. De volgende ochtend kwamen ze schoonmaken, maar ook dat was eerst niet goed, bedden slordig opgemaakt, geen handdoeken, de tafel en bak waar het koffieapparaat stond, was ook niet afgenomen. We hadden het aangegeven en toen kwamen ze terug om alles opnieuw te doen...dus was aan de andere kant toch goede service...hotel was wel mooi aangekleed met lichtjes.

Vanwege familiebezoek slapen wij vaak in Van der Valk Emmen. Het is een prima hotel. De ontvangst is altijd vriendelijke en de kamers zijn schoon en netjes echter wel zwaar gedateerd. Ik heb gehoord dat het hotel gaat uitbreiden en een nieuw gedeelte krijgt. Ik kijk hier erg naar uit, aangezien dit ook wel nodig is. Het is namelijk zonde van dit verder uitstekende hotel. De bedden zijn opzich prima, alleen de kussen zijn wel aan vervanging toe. Deze zijn erg slap en geven totaal geen steun, met als resultaat nekpijn. Het ontbijtbuffet is zijn geld meer dan waard. Het is erg uitgebreid en het restaurant ruim opgezet. Kwaliteit van het eten is uitstekend en de service vriendelijk. Al met al een erg goed hotel, met hier en daar wat verbeterpuntjes.

Personeel altijd netjes en vriendelijk. Ook beschikt het hotel over een gym en een zwembad en is het vrij rustig gelegen. Echt is het hotel op het restaurant na, zwaar gedateerd. Behang in de gangen laat los en de kamers zijn verouderd. Vooral de standaard kamers zijn erg armoedig. Geen licht in de douchecabine bijvoorbeeld. Wel is het hotel schoon, voor mij het belangrijkste detail. Ontbijt is subliem en het geld meer dan waard.
