"I recently stayed at UNAHOTELS Capotaormina and came away with mixed feelings. On one hand, the setting is absolutely spectacular. The views are breathtaking, the pool is incredible, and the hotel’s direct access to the sea is a major highlight. The beach area is beautiful and made for a truly relaxing stay. The room itself was modern, comfortable, and well-appointed with thoughtful amenities. Following an issue with our original room, the hotel moved us to a suite, which was equally lovely, and I appreciated how professionally the situation was handled. The complimentary shuttle to Taormina was also a fantastic convenience. The staff were generally attentive, friendly, and eager to help. However, at this price point, I expected a more consistently polished experience. While the beach, pool, and restaurant areas are attractive, many of the other common spaces feel dated. Some of the public washrooms appear not to have been renovated in decades, which creates a noticeable contrast with the updated guest rooms. The spa, which is operated by an outside provider, was also underwhelming given the hotel’s luxury positioning. The food was perhaps the most inconsistent aspect of the stay—some meals were excellent, while others fell short of expectations. Service could also be uneven. For example, on several mornings at breakfast, my coffee order never arrived, which may seem minor but became frustrating over the course of the stay."
