Elegant Medieval Residence with Panoramic Views, Saint-Paul-de-Vence

Le Joyau sits within a 12th-century stone building on the legendary rue Grande, the very street that drew Picasso, Chagall, and Matisse to Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Behind its historic walls, everything has been fully and lovingly renovated to a standard that rivals the finest boutique hotels on the Côte d'Azur.

The contrast is the magic. Warm oak herringbone floors, a bespoke hand-painted marble wallpaper, custom built-in wardrobes, a Vertigo pendant light, a Smeg kitchen, a Magimix food processor, a wine fridge stocked with Provençal rosé, and a Nespresso machine, all of it wrapped inside century-old stone walls. It does not feel like an apartment. It feels like someone's very beautiful home. Because it is.
The Space

The open living and dining area seats six comfortably, centered around a designer kitchen island with bar stools. The kitchen is fully equipped for serious cooking: induction hob, Smeg oven, Magimix, air fryer, and a dedicated wine rack. Natural light pours through original wooden-framed windows opening onto the cobblestone lane below.

A private balcony off the main living area offers just enough space for two, with a bar ledge perfectly positioned to watch the Provençal light shift across the valley at sunrise or sunset. Small, intimate, and utterly cinematic.

The Bedrooms:
The Master Suite (200x200cm / 79"x79") is the largest room in the residence, dressed in hotel-grade white linen beneath a signature Vertigo pendant light. A full wall of custom oak wardrobes and a cobalt blue velvet bench complete the room. The en-suite bathroom features a Carrara marble double vanity, polished chrome fixtures, and a walk-in rain shower with handcrafted hexagonal tiles.

The Artist's Room (200x180cm / 79"x71") is framed by a hand-carved Romanesque stone arch original to the building. A medieval limestone column stands at the window, framing a panoramic view across the rolling hills of the Côte d'Azur hinterland. A vintage oak writing desk and cognac leather chair sit in the corner. The private en-suite shower room features hand-painted Provençal cement tiles and a travertine stone vessel sink.

Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a fully pedestrian village, which means no traffic, no noise, and an extraordinary sense of calm. Paid parking is available in the village car park, approximately a 8/10-minute walk from the residence. Your co-host will meet you at the village gate.

Fondation Maeght (one of Europe's finest modern art museums) is a 5-minute walk. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is 30 minutes by car. Cannes is 40 minutes. Monaco is 45 minutes. The beaches of Cagnes-sur-Mer are 15 minutes.
