The room was very clean and comfortable for my wife and I. The only issue was that AC unit blew through wooden window blinds that had to be open to receive air. This allowed open view access to the room all the time. Enjoyed the location with a restaurant right next door.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Even though we were coming in quite late, they worked with us on this. You must let them know though, as the office closes at 8. The rooms are nice and spacious. The only problem I had was the beds are not very comfortable. But it is very conveniently located. We do plan on coming back.

Beautiful Mountain Inn with cozy decor, nice size room, large bathroom with very nice shower which heats up quick and provides nice pressure. Bed is very comfortable and room has extra-large compact fridge with freezer compartment. One note Room 17 has loose toilet base and rocks slightly.

The Shady Lawn Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It's in the heart of Newland, NC, a small town with a cool vibe. Shady Lawn Inn was my home for 10 days because of car trouble. Staff Kara (front desk), Maria (housekeeping) and Ms. Suzzanah (owner) were so gracious and helpful and I felt safe. Room was clean, a bit dark, comfortable bed (king) and the ac cools when needed. Weather was delicious. Waightstills Restaurant steps from my room. Full bar, food variety, try the risoto with chorizo...delish. And a wowing collection of Lego builds made by the other owner Mr. Nathan. The driveway is rough, but hurricane Helene went thru this town hard. Good, kind folks at this place. I was fortunate to land at The Shady Lawn Inn.
