Good location, approx 10-15 mins from the station and just opposite the football ground. Room (suite) was large, comfortable and clean. It could benefit from air conditioning, but there were two fans in the room.
All the facilities you need. we had an executive suit only for one night for our wedding reception at a nearby venue at a price of £214 i wanted something speacil sadly we didnt get the wow factor i hoped for . Also breakfast even tho again a good variety but found the cooked food to be poor quality ive had better at much cheaper hotels and one last thing mirror in bathroom and by the side of the bed had big cracks in them i wouldnt let this revue stop you staying in this hotel as they do have cheaper rooms and the staff were very freindly and polite ive just stayed in better hotels for much less money .

Okay overall, however heating system very inconsistent - worked for 10 mins a day. Mattress was very uncomfortable and uneven. Though being in city centre, very loud music playing even at night. Wardrobe door was very wobbly and almost coming off. Room way too humid, poor ventilation. Extractor system in bathroom was super weak, after showering walls were soaked and ceiling. This humidity also travelled into the bedroom because of the door, leaving windows and mirrors very steamy. No regular room service? Had no information about this either. Was also meant to be a king bed as advertised on this but ended up with a double bed, which was very disappointing as a taller person. Did not access the fitness centre/ bar or use laundry services during our stay.
We booked this hotel because we have previously stayed there (Dec 24) and it is dog friendly .
The good part of the hotel is that it is dog friendly but thats the only good part.
The room was small and was not cleaned during our weekend stay, the safe in the room was locked and i asked for it to be unlocked but they forgot and i had to ring reception a few hours later to remind them. They did unlock the safe but it jammed against the sliding wardrobe door which would not fully open meaning you could not get your hand in the safe. So i had no where to leave my valubles whilst doing the GNR.
The bar area , what can i say, Sat afternoon plenty of staff but ignoring customers on one side waiting to be served. The Sunday night after the run and a busy night in Newcastle. Last orders was 9pm . What on earth and no signs, this is not the first sandman to do this . It is a shame because this hotel is ideally located.
Tired room, in need of a refurb. Had to ask to change my room as there was a strong smell of tobacco. Breakfast is ok, but cheap quality.
VERY noisey from the Stack
Perfect location for me , slightly noisy with stack bar opposite , clean and room was nice. Man on reception particularly friendly and helpful to me . Would stay again
Good location close to St. James’ Park but can be a little noisy with traffic flow. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. King sized bed was comfortable and nice bathroom with shower only. Tea and coffee making facilities and mini fridge was a bonus. Breakfast was good, with lots of choice, however I’m not a huge fan of the help-yourself buffet.
We loved Stack opposite. Great little venue with wide range of food vendors. Nice for a bite to eat and a drink before heading into town.

No air conditioning in my room. Not that it didn’t work, there just wasn’t any. I’d expect that in a relatively modern hotel
When we arrived the lady at reception struggled with her English which made it a long process. There is also no aircon and the fan provided was so loud with a rattle we couldn’t keep it on
Excellent stay, friendly staff and information given at check in. We stayed in a suite for our anniversary and I would definitely recommend. Good breakfast choices.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel over the last few years both midweek and on a weekend.
The staff are always excellent and especially on the reception desk this time. They were very helpful with the carparking.
The only complaints we have is that the breakfast could be warmer although there was plenty of choice. We are usually out and about ourselves on the evenings but as we were moving on to another hotel / venue for saturday afternoon and night we went back early and noticed how noisy it was outside. This did have an effect on our sleep even after an 8 hour drive earlier in the day. We thought we would have slept well but this wasnt the case as we slept better on our previous stays.
