The pros: The location was great: close to the train station, shops and bars. Comfy bed and I slept well.
The cons: We were surprised that as a modern hotel there was no fridge in the room.
The customer service was poor. We reported to reception that the toliet was faulty. The staff member did not allow me to give details of the issue and said she would get maintenance to look at it. They did not attend to it.
This morning we returned to the room after breakfast to find that we were locked out as our keys had been timed out. If you check in online, it locks you out at 10am on the day of departure rather than 11am. Moreover, they have not changed the time to take into account the end of British Summer Time. After returning downstairs the response was that there are a lot of locks to change. It is a problem they are clearly aware of so why not put a sign up warning people!

The shower and toilet were running water after using
Lovely quiet room (requested) which was very well appointed and immaculately clean. It was my husband’s birthday and he was given a card, some chocolates and we were each given a drink ‘on the house!’ Great staff too!
On arrival the main entrance was cordoned off and we couldn’t find an alternative way into the hotel. After 15 mins of wandering up and down the street we asked a person nearby if they knew another way into the hotel. We were told to go ‘round the back, we still couldn’t find our way in. Eventually we were ushered through a restaurant and in to the reception. Terrible lack of signage whilst works were ongoing.

Clean room Promot remedial action when flush stuck open in the loo. Nice food for dinner .
Beds were quite high and I could have done with a step ladder to get on the bed, temperatures of the room waa difficult to manage, and you needed an engineering degree to work the showers. The key to the room also stopped working in the morning before you checked out. Despite this the hotel waa nice and clean, the staff were polite, and it was well positioned for the local amenities, including train station. I would stay a
