This was my second stay at this hotel in a couple of months because the rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable, the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent value for money. The location suits me very well because it's easy to get into Newcastle either on public transport or by driving, but also it's an easy drive to get to the coast. I'd definitely recommend staying at the Great North Hotel.

The room was fine other than a leak under the sink, the guy on reception said he would do what he could to get us checked in early it was 1.58pm check in was 2pm when I pointed this out he said they had been busy yesterday but did manage to get a room for us, if he had been a little curtious and said sorry it won’t be long then great no problem but to say we were early by 2 minutes is a little naff

This is our go to hotel every time we visit Newcastle now been about 5 or 6 times, staff are always friendly polite and courteous, the Three Mile Pub is excellent with lots to offer drink and foodwise. Would recommend this hotel anytime

I stayed here on a room only basis. Lovely, large room which looked as if it had recently been modernised. Very accessible location if you are driving to Newcastle, particularly down the A1 from Scotland, with the nearest Metro station about 10-15 minutes walk.
