Check in was busy on Friday afternoon, one young man trying to cope with several people at once, then staff appeared from an office checked in one person then disappeared again, got to my room , 1 star, bins not emptied, bed looked like it was a rush job by cleaning staff,

Not a clean entry, staff stay behind the door and are never at reception, bathrooms in rooms are the same as a cruise ship plastic shell, rooms are tiny and not clean or up to date at all. Room service didn’t take the rubbish or give extra toilet paper on second day.

The venue was convenient, clean and a great location for accessing the city of Newcastle. I did need to use WIFI and, while it was available, it was a free low speed throttled service. I would like to have known in advance that I had to pay extra to access a usable data rate.

The staff were average. The hotel was like a rundown halfway house. I have stayed in cleaner and better looking backpackers. The hotel smells of cigarettes and stale beer, the lift had a urinal cake quality and the room itself had so many paint chips, warped and cracked furniture and my sheets had holes in them. It feels like a place that you would stay if yiu just wanted a place to pass out after a bucks night.

Service at check-in was slow due to the receptionist being busy serving beers. No room cleaning even though I was there for 3 nights. The manager apologized and assure me it would be done after night 2, but it wasn’t Breakfast on morning 1 was a shambles. Lights weren’t even on and staff still setting up the breakfast after the scheduled open time Breakfast on morning 2 and 3 was great Lift was grotty. 3 nights worth of rubbish in my bin was difficult to deal with Overall a very disappointing experience

Unfortunately this was a bad experience - they don't do housecleaning & when I asked (on day 4) if I could get clean towels and the bathroom cleaned as I was there for 5 days, I was told there was no housestaff available. The place is falling to pieces, the rooms are very old, they stink and they are filthy. The best part of this place, was the driveway out.

Pitiful

IBIS HOTEL REVIEW. DITY CARPETS AND WALLS, AT 1AM WOKE UP TO THE SMELL OF SEWER COMING FROM THE BATHROOM SHOWER DRAIN. WENT TO TELL THE DESK PERSON AND ALL THE CLEANING GUY DID WAS POUR CHEMICAL DOWN THE TOILET. I WAS TOLD THEY MIGHT HAVE A DIFFERENT ROOM FOE ME LATER IN THE DAY BUT.... NO GUARANTEE. LATER THAT DAY I WAS OFFERED ANOTHER ROOM BUT IT WAS ON THE SAME FLOODED FIRST FLOOR TWO DOORS DOWN WHICH WOUKDNT HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE. THE BED HAD TWO FLAT PILLOWS ON IT UGGG FITTED SHEET, FLAT SHEET. DUNA THEN A FLAT SHEET ON TOP OF THAT. WHEN I PULLED THE TOP FLAT SHEET OFF THE DUNA , I SAW THAT THE DUNA WAS HORRIBLY STAINED. THE OVER HEAD LIGHTS WERE EXTREAMLY BRIGHT, MORE LIKE OFFICE TUBE LIGHTS. THE TV WAS NO BIGGER THAN A 20 TO 25 IN. VERY SMALL. THE ROOM HAS NO PICTURES ON THE DIRTY WALLS AND THE BATHROOM LOOKED LIKE SOMETHING FROM OUT OF A SPACE SHIP. AND THE ROOM WAS VERY SMALL. THE SHOWER DID NOT HAVE TEXTURED FLOORING WHICH MADE IT VERY SLIPERY WHEN WET AND SOAP GOT ON IT. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THE FIRST FLOOR WAS FLOODED IN A RAIN STORM AND ALL THE ROOMS WERE RENOVATED. YA RIGHT. THEY ADVERTISED AN IRON BUT THERE WASNT ONE. IT DID HOWEVER HAVE AN IRONING BOARD. FUNNY. 》》》The heat and air unit is full of mold.《《《 THIS IS BAD FOR THOSE OF US WITH ALERGYS. The chair i had to sit in was an old hard plastic patio chair. Ruff on the back. Second night stay, I was woke up at 3am to the people in the room above me stomping or banging and dropping stuff on the floor.
