This is a charming inn with a great pub. The only downside to my stay was that there was no air-conditioning during my stay, which was unfortunately during a heatwave.

Nice big room with very comfortable bed. Unfortunately we arrived during the heatwave in May. The building is listed so cannot install air conditioning and the room was very hot. A fan was provided. The staff were very helpful in providing information. The breakfast was nice.

I would strongly advise that they install air conditioning into the rooms. The rooms are beautiful but very unpleasant in hot conditions, which would discourage me from booking in the summer.

No aircon, a fan that couldn’t move air 30cm in front of it, hot hot night. False fire alarm at 3am. But a rather rude check-in. I appreciate long days, warm weather may not be the most conducive to a warm reception. I paid mate, you weren’t doing me a favour! Breakfast was nice. But better options to choose from in Newbury!
