Extremely disappointing stay — listing omitted major issues and the property was poorly maintainedWe booked this accommodation expecting a basic but usable stay. What we found was an old property in extremely poor condition, with several safety problems that were not mentioned in the listing.Accessibility and stairsThere was no mention of the many stairs. That is a serious omission for anyone elderly, mobility-impaired, or travelling with heavy luggage. The banisters were wobbly and insecure, which made the stairs feel unsafe.Condition of the propertyThe building is old and has been maintained extremely poorly. Bathrooms were mouldy and in poor condition. Tap handles were falling off. Taps and showers dripped constantly.Appliances and facilitiesRemote controls for the appliances all had flat batteries. There was only one air-conditioner remote for three units on each floor, which is impractical. The toaster sparked when used and felt like a genuine safety hazard. We would not use it again.Host responseWe reported these issues to the host. They took days to reply and showed no urgency in fixing anything. Problems that should have been dealt with immediately were left unaddressed.OverallThis stay was of extremely poor quality. The listing was incomplete, the property was neglected, several items were unsafe, and the host was slow and unhelpful. We would not recommend this accommodation and would not stay again.
