Family of 4 (2 teenage boys), we were in Manhattan for 8 nights attending a 3-day volleyball tournament. The hotel was part of the tournament’s stay-to-play choices. We made an extended vacation out of it.
The hotel’s location is super convenient, many food choices within a few min of walking. Subway is right beside the building. Penn Station is across the street.
Although the room is small compared to many places we have stayed, but it is decent enough for a Manhattan hotel at this price range. Can’t complain.
The hotel doesn't have its own parking. Guests are parked in an underground garage across the street. There is no in-and-out though.
The hotel has a rich history (showcased in the basement to the gym). And because of this, there are many shortfalls with aging. Air ducts are very dusty, visible soap scums around the bathtub, rust spots on the mirror, water temperature fluctuated constantly, no exhaust fan in the washroom…..
The staff are mostly friendly, helpful and upbeat. The only problem we had was with housekeeping department. They leave random sets of towels in the room, one day could be 4 sets, then another day only 2 sets, and a couple days with 3 sets. Also takes more than 2 calls to have extras delivered.
Overall it was a pleasant stay.
