Location is top notch. Old hotel with character. Amazing bed. Very large deluxe king room. Heat wasn’t working and a portable heater arrived in my room within minutes, great fix. A bit more attention to room deferred maintenance would be good - like going room to room to proactively assess. A painting hung on the wall kept going crooked and someone could probably walk through the rooms with a toolbelt to show some TLC and fix that sort of thing. . No coffee in room for a $500+ a night hotel is a definite miss.

Good karma. Staff concerned, but rooms need a refresh. The slightly tattered quality was always part of the charm but the bathrooms, plaster work and floors and furnishings all need an update and refresh.

Pros- location, cleanliness of the room, extremely comfortable bed, delicious coffee from lobby coffee shop Cons- no outside light by stairs coming into hotel ( we arrived at night and the hotel looked “ spooky” in the dark, as well as the fact we could have gone headfirst down the steps), hotel carpets heading to elevator were filthy, the front desk is a person standing beside their laptop, the lobby is a coffee shop so it was usually quite crowded.

The room was freezing when I inquired the front desk staff reported the heat will not be turned on for another couple of days blankets were offered but the temperature was extremely uncomfortable given temperatures were in the 30s outside. Also, When I took a shower the tub did not drain at all

Terrible service. Ridiculously overpriced. They said they would bring bags up to our room but did not. We had to do that ourselves. Bathroom wall paint was peeling. Bath tub drain was not working. Poor front desk service. The lobby bathroom was gross and not serviced. The room rate was as much as the Four Seasons or Plaza but the service was complete trash. Avoid this hotel at all costs. It is a total racket. NEVER COMING BACK.
