If you need a place to crash after spending all day seeing the sights, this place is OK. East village location is great for accessing Lower East Side, NYU area, or hop on the subway across the street. Bagels and coffee right downstairs; tons of restaurants on St. Marks Place. Room is small, but clean. Clean sheets and towels changed daily; bed was old, mattress was kinda "creaky", but not too bad. Clean room, no bugs. Bathroom was mostly clean, but some mold in the shower. Fresh towels everyday. Noise ...? It's NYC. Given the location and amenities, this is a good value.

Good: price, location, safe Could be better: size (smallest room I’ve ever stayed in), no ice, difficulty lugging suitcases up many flights of stairs (no elevator), amenities (none). Overall value 4/5 stars. You certainly get what you pay for.

Great location, fast and easy check in and check out. Tiny and basic needs, a bed, a window to let air in, the water was so hot and last as long as it needed to last. Room cleaned as needed. Private restroom. Cash only. Great for a solo traveler who spends all day exploring the city

Staff was very polite. We were able to store our luggage in a secured room before check in. Hotel/rooms dated but our room was clean. Only negative is that mattresses and pillows could be replaced. Overall good value for what we paid. I would stay here again.

The rooms are old but clean. They do daily cleaning. The staff are nice and professional. They attend to needs promptly. There are a lot of shops nearby. We frequent a 24/7 CVS. There’s a bunch of restaurants in the area. Very accessible by walking and by any means. We use subway and there’s like 3 nearby subway stations. WiFi works well. TV and air conditioning work well. The room we had just don’t have a kitchenette so it is something to consider if you’re planning to cook or reheat something when you travel. Thank you, St. Marks.

Know before you go!

The front desk wants you to pay for three nights in cash. Three nights minimum they say but that’s before even seeing the rooms! If you are unhappy with the rooms beware since you have paid in advance you may struggle to get a refund of your cash I had to stay two nights or I’d lose my two nights cash for stay but got refunded for one night only and went somewhere better. It’s loud, smelly and the beds are like better than jail…but super uncomfortable regardless
