We were given a room on the 15th floor near a laundry shoot. EVERY morning around 5/6am I was awakened by loud thuds and my room door rattling. Everything else about the hotel was good. But if you want to rest there, be sure your room is not near a laundry shoot!

We found being in the Flower District to just be a joy to be right in the middle of when we walked out of the hotel. Also, the ease of getting transportation made getting around quite easy. Room was quaint, but clean and the newly renovationed rooms were nice. I particularly liked the fact that the room had a mini fridge and microwave.

I usually don't have high expectations when staying at hotels/inns and can look past a lot. But it was extremely hard to be in my room because of the stench coming from the bathroom. To me, it smelled a lot like a litter box with a strong terrible urine odor, mixed with poop and mildew, which I'm sure the mildew smell came from the shower curtain. It was so bad that I decided to buy my own Lysol spray from Walgreens to get rid of the smell, which didn't help long-term. On top of this, the pillow cases had stains on them already. I normally bring my own pillowcase anyways but that with the bathroom smell was so off-putting. I know I could have said something but just the way the front desk staffs' attitudes were during my check in and passing them every morning with a smile, it deterred me from bringing up complaints to them. Lastly, this isn't the hotel staffs' responsibility, but the noise outside at night is so loud. It felt like I had my window open from how clear and loud I could hear everything, so it made sleeping very rough.

The fumes in this place were hellish. This hotel uses more perfumed floor cleaner than anywhere I have ever been. My clothes smelled for weeks after being in this hotel, and I had asthma symptoms the entire time. And I don't mean standard asthma from average fragrance. This place REEKS. And as soon as the smell decreases even slightly, they spray it all over again. I tried to open the window to air it out, and guess what? On the 10th floor there are no locks or any kind of safety mechanism preventing the window from opening all the way. If you get drunk, sleepwalk, have kids with disabilities, or have toddlers, you might be leaving your stay with fewer people than you checked in with.

Expensive, small, messy location

Room itself was quite small but comfortable . Not a lot of room to put your suitcases. We had two large and two carry-on. Beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning was a wall/under window type unit. Did not work very well. Ran all night, was noisy. Had trouble with the door key card, but staff was Very helpful and responded immediately. Elevators were slow. Second day one was out of order, which meant we had a bit of a wait. 22 stories and only one elevator is not good. USB ports were plentiful, but none of them worked. Porter was very helpful and friendly. We did not eat breakfast there. Too expensive. $18.95 each. Went around the corner to McDonald’s. Parking garage was 1 block away. $50 a day, as long as you did not go in and out. Traffic on the street in front of hotel was absolutely terrible but guess that is to be expected for New York City. Would not complain about the $350 a night if the street had not looked like a business alley. Very junky with wholesale flower and plant venders and their stock filling the sidewalks and even the street. Lots of homeless people scrounging around outside. One guy was screaming obscenities. Think the hotel door guy should be out there to shoo them away.

This hotel is in the heart of the flower district and close to the subway, dining and shopping. The staff was very helpful, kind and knowledgeable.
