THE PROPERTY
The cabin feels secluded and removed, yet just across a quiet country road you’ll find New Salem Cider—a small, working cidery on a historic 1750s homestead.
There, you can wander over to enjoy small-batch hard cider, preserves, and cider donuts, or simply take in views of the Quabbin Reservoir. Guests often find this to be a highlight—whether it’s meeting Carol, the 99-year-old owner, chatting with John, the cidermaker, or simply experiencing a place deeply rooted in nature and community. That said, there’s no expectation to interact—guests can keep to themselves entirely or be as involved as they’d like.
