For the price we paid I can excuse a few things but I still think it’s fair to point out just how outdated the rooms are. The pictures we looked at before booking are very deceiving and I think it’s unfair to allow a hotel to make themselves look shiny on the outside while hiding so much. The outdatedness alone could’ve been overlooked, but the lack of deep cleaning was disturbing. There were stains on the chair and carpet, lots of grime and dirt on the cords of the telephones and tons of hairs on the mattress cover under the sheets. We went to go use the ice machine in the lobby of the 5th floor and when I looked at the opening it was covered in black mould.
Some positives: the lounge area feels very luxurious. It’s clear that the hotel has focused on updating the common areas and not the rooms. The attached Family Mart was very convenient, as was the free shuttle service to the airport. The front desk people were very friendly.
Overall, if you’re really pinching pennies and don’t mind sleeping with a musty comforter, this could still be the place for you. But if you can spare some extra coin for somewhere cleaner, you should.
