About this space
Two and half hours from Nairobi, The cottage is nestled on the lower side of Lusoi farm right by a river on what was the extension of the original settler house on the farm. We estimate the original structure was built in the 1930s making this building almost 100 years old. There has been many iterations and uses of the the building over the years including a bunker to hideaway during the struggle of independence. The cottage is right by the barn and you may encounter our farm animals.
The space
You've just been handed the keys to come stay at your "favorite Auntie's" weekend country cottage. Please treat it as such. Beautiful art, collectibles, plants, flowers, locally made beds with wood from the farm and luxurious furnishings all combine to create a cozy and stylish abode.
There's four large bedrooms that can sleep 2 each. Two of the rooms are interconnected making them ideal for multi-generational families and groups of friends who don't mind sharing. This is an old house and we've done our best to repair and make it livable without gutting the entire inside. There's 2 shared bathrooms and 1 en-suite bathroom.
Uncle Bob's is a perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. Cyclists, bring your bikes, hike-explore the farm, take short and/or long walks, switch off and reconnect with nature and yourself. We've a full service kitchen with beautiful produce harvested directly from our farm.
A Housekeeper is on-site for the day-to-day general cleaning. You can also request a picnic to take with you.
