My review would be 1/2 star

It was my husband and I first anniversary so we were expecting a suite with a balcony overlooking the beach. We got the complete opposite. Upon arrival she put us is a small motel across the street called St. John , the room we were in was bedside the boiler room, that was noisy all night , motel had no complimentary breakfast, we did have a small balcony overlooking a pool of children, we had to go to office across street and ask for someone to make beds,had 2 queen beds, she came and made beds only, trash in floor and she didn’t get it up, had ice machine on first fl, and no ice bucket we had to go out and purchase one

Mi familia y yo pasamos un lindo fin de semana gracias a que nuestra estadía en el the caravelle resort fue muy buena, cuarto limpio, camas confortables y limpias, el baño muy limpio. Estoy hablando de nuestra experiencia, las próximas vacaciones, seguro nos volveremos a hospedar ahí mismo. En recepción nos atendió una muchacha jóven que parecía estar de malas ese día 8/30/025 el turno de las 4 de la tarde. Le pregunté dónde quedaba mi cuarto y me dijo, ahí a la vuelta, tampoco me dió el pase de pool/laundry o wifi Ni siquiera el sing de parqueo.

Overall our stay was great, the kids ages 4 and 12 enjoyed the pool areas, the outside grounds area and the ease of getting around. Check in took a while and although my Expedia reservation stated parking was included I was charged 12$ per day for parking on site. Ocean front rooms available. The room we got was an oceanfront efficiency just a simple room and that was certainly what it was, nothing special. A fairly yucky chair that I threw a blanket over that had a stain. I sprayed my Lysol and looked over that as it wasn’t on the beds. Could’ve been cleaner, but it was beach hotel room efficient. It worked for us and the amenities at the hotel were great!

The property has amazing views but our room had a very heavy mildew smell. We told staff but they told us there was nothing we could do. Called housekeeping multiple times for more towels and trash bags and no one answers. Pools were all very nice and kids area. Dishes, cups and silverware were provided. Parking garage is super tiny but manageable and extra parking is available. Would definitely come back if it wasn’t for the smell.

First of all the front desk reception was very rude he doesn't know how to talk with customers, second when I booked breakfast was included and every hotel parking is free and parking was also included but the said i booked from 3rd party expedia.com I have to pay for the parking, the elevators had very bad sound and most of time out of service the hot tubs most of time out of service and very dirty my bad experience to stay in this hotel i don't recommend to anyone

We had good views from Mr.Matt at the front desk to the balcony view off the 11th floor, we did have a water shut off in our room for 24 hour but it was no worries because Matt helped us out with that, the elevators were slow but we located the back elevators and they were mich faster. The major downfall for me weas the amount of roaches we had to kill in our room ... atleast 4 to 5 a day so we left all of our bags and stuff in the car

Clean rooms, nothing like all the reviews I read in route on the day of check in, which almost made me cancel my stay! So glad I didn’t! Room was clean, no bugs at all! Maybe it’s an old side and remodeled side! We stayed on the 9th floor ocean front, and I will book here again! Nothing at all like the reviews I read! Close walk to beach, lazy pool, hot tubs inside and outside! Great for families

Was false information from the beginning. Standing water on the balcony. Tub not clean, had hair in shower and on the floor. Bed sheets didn't feel clean. The beds felt like we were sleeping on our heads. Tv's didn't cooperate all the time. Controls had no battery covers so batteries kept popping out. Pools and hot tubs were too tiny to accommodate the amount of guests and they were filthy. The rooms and furnishings were old and hard or lumpy. Couldn't use the security lock on the door. The entrance was not convenient.

I made a mistake of not knowing St. John building was not directly on the beach with the actual hotel but across the street to the left. Check-in was not very quick and staff seemed overwhelmed. Also side note. Parking for the actual Carvelle Resort is across the street in same area as Check-in office. However, it is an additional $12 per day. In addition to $39.00 fee if you chose to opt out a $250.00 damaged depost that is due immediately. Once we were pointed in the direction of our hotel after what seemed to be a 39 minute wait we checked out the room to only find that the floor was bubbled and squeal everytime we walked ontop of it. Dirty rags that were most likely left by the cleaning crew on top of the microwave. Dirty dusty plastic flower arrangement and a bathtub that did not drain when showering was so gross, definitively icing on the cake and and no phone in the room to reach the front desk. I would say on a positive note St. John "motel" has its own pool which was not overly crowded like the pool across the street at the real Carvelle Resort and was quite for the most part. Would I stay at a Carvelle resort again... that would be a big NO.

Good place for families

Hotel is in a good location travel to grocery stores, gas, fun things for the family was all within 10-20 minute drive or walking distance. The property itself is like most other hotels in myrtle beach and is run down and needs updating. The parking garage was tight but manageable, even for a bigger vehicle/suv/truck. Elevators were really uncomfortable and humid and took forever but the room was really nice and clean. Kitchen was adequate size and worked perfect for our family of 5. The staff seemed friendly and check in went smoothly. There were multiple ice machine locations and snack/drink machines that all seemed to be in working order. The pools were nice for all of our kids (ages 3-11) to enjoy. The indoor pool and hot tubs looked like they needed more water and werent as well maintained as the outdoor pool and kiddie area, but were still okay. Short distance to the beach, but only one of the showers to rinse off were in working order. Over all we would absolutely stay here again.
