I booked this hotel based on a previous great experience at My Place Hotel in Port Aransas, expecting similar service. We stayed for three nights and requested housekeeping on our third day, hoping to return to a clean room with fresh towels, toilet paper, and facial tissue for our checkout the next morning. When we returned that evening, the elevator was out of service, which was manageable since we weren’t carrying our large suitcases. However, we were disappointed to find no housekeeping had been done — towels remained on the floor, and there were no fresh supplies. I had to go downstairs to request clean towels, toilet paper, and tissue. When I asked why our room wasn’t serviced despite our request, I was told housekeeping only occurs on Thursdays. This should have been communicated at check-in so we wouldn’t have left towels on the floor unnecessarily. Moreover, the elevator was still out on Thursday morning, forcing us to carry our heavy luggage down from the third floor. Overall, the reception staff were less friendly than what we’ve experienced at most hotels.

Facility is great, room was clean & staff helpful. The room was a decent size for our family of 4. Upon our arrival in the afternoon, the only negative we experienced is no dining options. This is a very small town so not much is convenient & available. After driving a few hours to get there we didn’t want to have to drive 30+ miles to find decent dining.

Nice and clean. Pretty new building. My only complaint is I don’t understand the point of giving you a kitchenette with a cooktop and not provide a single pan, fork, plate or even coffee filters for the coffee pot. I guess I’m supposed to pack my frying pan?

The options were very limited for where we were visiting and the short length of our stay. We booked this hotel with no real knowledge that it is a chain but saw that it was pretty new so I thought it would be fine for the one night. Check-in was fine. The front desk person was very nice and helpful. When we started going up to our room, however, one of the housekeepers overheard what room you’re in and said “oh, I need to check something in your room.” So she follows us to our room lets herself in goes into the bathroom. Mom wants something and says “oh I’ll be right back.” A few minutes go by and she hadn’t returned and we had just finished a pretty long car ride so I went into the bathroom only to find that it had not been cleaned and the toilet was clogged… and not just with toilet paper. It smelled horrific. She returned a few minutes later with a plunger, punched the toilet, cleaned the toilet, and then left the unclean plunger in the bathroom next to the shower. She said she was leaving it “ in case we needed it” I was speechless and the hotel is a very basic hotel in a remote area so there’s nowhere else to go. We avoided using the bathroom for the rest of the night. We left the next day and everything else was unremarkable. It wasn’t until a week later that we realized after a doctors visit that the “mosquito bites” that we had were actually bedbugs from the hotel. I know the options are limited, but save yourself from an experience like ours.
