The hotel is just by a metro station and a supermarket, so great location. Staff was nice and helpful. Reception closes at 8 PM, which almost caused us a big issue. Our passports were locked in a safe, but pin was not working. We needed a key. There was nobody to open the safe to us when we return to the hotel At 9:30 PM. After a few phone calls to the HDQ team and talking to the people at the Indian restaurant next door, they figure out a way to open the safe and saved the day, orher use we would miss out flight at 3 am, since they don’t open until 7. The room was big and comfortable.

Good location close to the tram stations. Property was ok, quite dusty and didnt seem to be cleaned very well. Toilet went werid the last day there and continually ran the while night.

Close to underground station so easy access to city centre. Convenient parking under hotel. Clean room. Nice to have a balcony, and shutters on window. Very good restaurants (Indian next door and Italian nearby) and a supermarket close by. Beds had quite hard matresses and awful pillows, so not comfortable.The curtain fell off when we closed it! The bathroom was a bit smelly. Very hot room (to be fair the temperature was particularly high when we stayed) and while we were grateful for the fan the room was very hot and the fan was noisy.

Not clean - One of our comforters was very dirty and stained. When we tried to get a replacement, we were told the housekeeping staff went home and we had to wait until the next day for clean products. That was not good customer service. Noisy - There is a restaurant entrance below our room which put a table outside so there was a lot of loud talking, laughing and drinking until after midnight for two days in a row. We had to shut the windows to sleep, but that cut off the fresh air and the room was stuffy.

The room was clean, comfortable and fairly spacious, and the staff were very friendly, although we were not told how to get back into the building when reception was closed. Although the hotel is quite close to an U-Bahn station, it takes a while to get there from the centre which wasn’t always ideal. Still a comfortable, quiet place to stay though and would recommend this hotel.

The room was ok. Dishes weren’t properly done so had to redo them before using. There was also a dirty towel in our bathroom when we arrived, which wasn’t great. Overall the rest of the room was clean and comfortable. We traveled with our two kids (5 and 8) and it was a great set-up for us. Easy to access the subway (a 5 min walk) and organic grocery store and regular grocery store within walking distance as well.

We have stayed at the Empress several different times. It’s a great location, convenient to transportation and shopping. The rooms are very nice. The breakfast buffet is varied and delicious and we highly recommend staying here.

Terrible stay

Do not recommend! Booked this stay because listing had laundry listed but upon arriving, front desk Clerk Laura said no that’s not true. She didn’t offer any complication or help. Instead, she took a screen shot off the listing and later deleted that fact. I contacted hotels and they only offered me a credit towards a future visit. They also contacted Laura who agreed they don’t have laundry but no solution and no credit or refund. Additionally our room was directly above an Indian restaurant where it was noisy. People stood out front smoking which wafted straight up into our windows in addition to the street noise.

Convenient to the subway line. Area is nice & peaceful.. close to REWE grocery store.. Though upon checking-in the staff did not tell us that there is free coffee in the morning which we could have made our stay more nicer. There is no air condition in the room, feels hot during the day, even when windows are open..
