We found this hotel when we were unable to stay in Albuquerque, it's a great out of the way place, really retro but super clean, super quiet, the owners were amazing we even came in a bit late after a concert and they turned on the outside lights on until we got into our room. We will definitely stay there again, we will probably even stay there instead of staying in Albuquerque. Can't say enough good things about this place!
I always prefer staying at these family/independently owned properties, as opposed to big corporate hotels.
This one came through with flying colors. I thought the retro feel was fun and the rooms were impeccably clean. It is busier street, but with the AC or heat running you don't really hear it.
Staff was so pleasant upon arrival. Loved the little breakfast goodie bag!
I will definitely stay here again, as I pass through several times a year.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
The owner/operator was kind and communicative. The room choice which was a higher price point was not honored. The hotel grounds were maintained, but the rooms could use updating. It smelled old and was not very clean, with lots of hair, stains, and dust. We were also charged an additional fee for our dog, which would’ve been fine and understandable if the room was in better condition and the cleaner was able to clean up after humans.
Safe and remote. But not worth the price.
An overnight stay on the way west. This is the only motel in 2400 miles of historic Route 66 that is still run by the family who built it. Their commitment to your comfort is as good as you'll find. A good alternative to staying in Albuquerque if that is not your ultimate destination.
I can’t say enough good things about my experience here. The front desk manager Christina was polite, professional and very kind. This is a boutique style motel so it was unique with its own special touches, vintage western decor and truly fit the classic Route 66 vibes I would expect in the “blink and you miss it” town of Moriarty. The “good night kiss” Hershey’s kisses in the room as well as the little rubber ducky on the bath towels were adorable and appreciated! The bedding was soft, beds were comfortable and the cleanliness was impressive given the age of the building. I would definitely recommend this motel.
It was clean and quiet. Check in was fast and access to the room was easy. We were on a road trip and appreciated a fast in and out, no hassle experience at a reasonable price. We like the old school privately owned hotels that are well kept like Sunset. Back up to the door and haul your junk straight into the room. No dragging coolers through lobbies and elevators and hallways. After all, we didn't fly half way across the country to waste time looking at hotels, did we? Breakfast.... well, that's not a breakfast where we come from. We had to hit the cooler and food stash for breakfast that morning. Still, we'd stay there again.
Very clean and comfortable. Local bakery goody bag for breakfast. Couldn’t get the ceurig coffee maker to work but had a decent selection of teas as alternative
My husband and I loved the retro room. It was clean, quiet and you have parking spot designated for your room which makes it super easy to carry your bags in to your room as it's right in front of it.
The owner is so very kind and even made things right as my husband I messed up on the check in day when we booked ( it was for the next day ) and she took care of it and even gave me a pair of ear plus as I forgot to pack mine.
Can't say enough about this motel from 1959... Cute rooms, cute landscape along with a bag with fruit and danish upon check in... A to go breakfast or after dinner snack....
We will be back... Many more times.
Very well done nostalgic setting. Wish we had more leisure time to spend but we were in and out quickly. Would stay here again. I didn’t need them but they have EV chargers.
