The bungalows are fine. It’s a budget place so set your standards accordingly. The owners are very friendly but only speak minimal English. There’s not much around so rent transportation of some kind. They do not have bikes to loan/rent. The wifi was the strongest I experienced in all of FP. The restaurant is very mediocre so again, rent transportation to get to restaurants. They also did not provide a kettle so being self sufficient with caffeine wasn’t possible. But the bed was comfy and it’s in a good spot to get to multiple places on the island. The islanders are familiar with it too so it’s an easy landmark.
Location is great for snorkeling right off the cabin. Free kayak is a great facility. Food choices are unfortunately very limited and there is no restaurant within walking distance at night for dinner.
This hotel, in my opinion, is not worth the stay. The restaurant food is decent, and the view in the garden is okay. However, there were many many bugs in our room. There were ants all over the sink, the toilet had issues flushing, there were ants and spiders seen on our bed, the fridge and bathroom mirror were extremely dirty (looked like somebody had thrown mud at them). The only upsides were that the view was pretty nice, and the employees were kind.
We loved the place for a low budget stay.
Our host Gustavo took amazing care of us. 3 meals a day. Made arrangements for excursions. The ocean in front of the bungalow was perfect. Had a special stay there.

More like a hostel, great service though!
I booked what I thought was a private bed with shared bathroom. Ended up being about 6 or 7 of us in an attic with fans for air circulation. So more of a hostel than what I am used to for a dormitory style.
The owners are super nice and friendly and breakfast is free so while I wasn't crazy about the sleeping arrangements, it was an incredible bargain for the island.

Waterfront Camping
We had a great time, after reading lots of bad reviews I wasnt expecting great service but I couldn't fault it. Hotel doesnt have a lot around so recommend getting bike or scooter which reception will help with.
Rooms, tidy but bathroom needed a lot of work, tiles falling off mould and had to hold shower head.
More like waterfront camping where you have a fan, fridge and dont need to pitch a tent. We enjoyed our stay.
A few little changes and this hotel would be fantastic
This place is OK - but the manager Solange is EXTREMELY RUDE!!!
I just asked for a cup up hot water - and she started yelling at me!! This is unbelievable!!! I have never experienced such a lousy service!
What they charge for their food in their small restaurant is outrageous - I guess this is how they make most of their money. So when you are not eating at their lousy restaurant - but rather make your own food /cofee / tea - they are furious. I asked a few times for a cup of boiled water from kitchen - and they became furious about it - again, manager Solange is EXTREMELY RUDE and nasty.
The conditions in their kitchen are extremely ANTI SANITARY ( I stepped in and saw for myself!) So you might be careful about what they give you to eat.
If you are staying in Garden View Bungalows - you BREKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED! They will charge 1000 CFP francs ($ 10) for a few pieces of bread, butter, marmalade, a cup of coffee and 3 pieces of pineapple - that's it. Extra coffee (pretty lousy) costs $ 3
to save money - I recommend just bringing portable immersion electric water heater - make as many tea cups or coffee as you would like without asking them every time. You can buy pretty good cheap food and a Champion supermarket ( 20 min drive from Motu Iti)
The place itself is OK - I stayed in Garden View bungalow. But manager Solange definitely needs to learn some basic manners and correct her attitude issues!
Beautiful view of the lagoon, great for a short stay. Really need a hire car, as there is very little close by. Very friendly owners. Only down side really was the owner's dog barking and waking us up each morning.
Fantastic view of the sea and easy access to the water

Great location!
The location was excellent and the communication with them before our trip was helpful including a savings from Aremiti ferry . The swimming , snorkeling, and kayaking was good although there was some seaweed in the water. The pizza was good, breakfast was not included and just ok. Beds were comfortable with good pillows. We loved sitting on our patio with the water 10 feet away!! We would stay there again because the price was right. No a/c but a fan was provided.
Location is amazing, good swim also. Friendly staff, lot of beds in the dormitory so in season I can imagine how awkward it could be, luckily this time only 2 of us sharing the whole place so can't complain. It was defo well worth the money I paid!
The views were amazing and super cute place, but if you have a problem with mold or bugs I would not stay at this location. If you don't have a car it's not very close to other amenities, but if you are up for walking on the edge of a busy road for more than a mile you can find something. Staff is just 1 person and only available in morning and evening. Food was expensive for what we got and the salad had moldy cheese...and not the blue kind. I wasn't impressed with this place, but it was quite the experience and you can't beat being on the ocean.
Aguste who runs Motu Iti should not be in any business involved in hospitality! He is not nice in any way! Be sure to have cash for your stay AND cash for all meals. No cooking facilities & no laundry facilities! No restaurants close by means that you will probably eat there.

You have what you paid
We spend a night in this place on a bungalow and I think this is the maximum. The price of the night is the only think correct with the free kayak. Everything else is bad or you need to pay (even for a local phone call), food is very expensive on the restaurant, very touristic, the owner is nice with you only when he knows you will spend money. Bungalows are close to the road so don't excpected to sleep
If you go into it knowing you're in a very natural place, with no A/C (and no need for it) and ventilation comes from open windows and doors, and that these are bungalows, not 5 star hotel rooms, then you will love it. I suggest asking for the bungalow with lagoon view that is farthest from the office, it has the most privacy. If you want an overwater bungalow experience, but dont have the budget, the units here, by the lagoon, are a very good substitute. Having the kayaks at our disposal was really nice. I do wish they had snorkel equipment available to rent or borrow. We did not eat at the restaurant, but did see others there.
This hotel is the worst place I have been . The receptionist or owner , Chinese guy is mean and not nice at all . I paid for breakfast on my reservation with Expedia and he denied to serve me Bfast even after showing him my voucher from Expedia . At the Dorm he puts twice as many beds as usual , no space to even get in your bed . He doesn’t spray for mosquitos , only 3 fans for +20 beds . Think twice before booking this pension . Bathrooms are dirty and not even toilet paper sometimes . There are other places in the island you could stay for the same price .
