Large windows for viewing birds and other wildlife, mountains and view of Gulf and Peninsula of Nicoya; spectacular sunsets and rainbows: comfortable enclosed porch with large and screened windows. The cabin was cozy, but it could benefit from some renovations, repairs, and a thorough deep cleaning. The shower head had been improvised using a plastic bottle and floors needed a deep cleaning. The kitchen lighting—especially over the stove—was very dim or completely absent. The sunroom/dining area was partially open to the outdoors due to a patched screen, and the door/partition was difficult to close as well as the floor in need of deep cleaning. The bedrooms were comfortable, but using shower curtains made the space feel unfinished; an open closet would have been a better choice.

I gave 4 not 5 because it is a bit rustic. Clean but everything is a bit old. So some may not like this? But I loved it. A huge space, too big for my husband and I. 3 bedrooms plus an upstairs with more cots so a huge party could stay here. But this allowed me to get up early and do my own thing without bothering my husband. There was a laundry, we did not use and a full kitchen. No shampoo etc. but there was soap, so bring your own. Off the beaten path so the crazy traffic of downtown is unheard. Very quiet and lovely. There is a view south toward the south which is very pretty. The bed was perfect, the one we chose. I am very picky so was happy to get a good one! I like firm but soft on top. You can walk to town of Santa Elena, 40 min, though you do have to be careful as there is not a sidewalk for certain sections and the roads are narrow. It is very close, 25 min drive from both cloud forests and the other tourist places (zip lining etc). The town itself has many things a town should, grocery stores, sports shop, book store, clothing and , of course, a lot of food. The best place we ate was the Orchid Cafe. It is a mix of what I call Californian and Costa rican food: vegetarian options and vegetables galore along with the regular choices of chicken/beef etc.

Realistic jungle experience

Very hard to find. Some kind of sign would help. Drive way was 4 WD ONLY ( didn’t know that) House has no heat, rainy season is extremely moist, so everything was slightly wet. It’s the jungle so yes , cockroaches were present. Reception was sketchy, cleanliness was sketchy, but if your wanting a true isolated experience with a wonderful view and don’t mind all the above, this place is for you

Nestled in the mountains, beautiful location. Private cabin with everything you need. Does not have A/C or heat, but found that it wasn't need... though a fan for air flow would have been perfect.

Rustic Charm

I enjoyed that it was quiet and a bit out of the way from some things but real close to others (night walks) Middle of Santa Elena really just minutes away though. The view is great. You can see the bay on the Pacific

Peaceful and Beautiful

Nice place, killer views - even better than the pictures in the listing! Close to town, cloud forest, and other activities. We were able to walk down the road to do the coffee plantation tour.

Awesome view into the sunsets, lots of colorful birds, that you can watch while sitting at the porch. Nice apartment, that has everything that you need.
