It is a great location. They did not service our room, we had to request clean towels and soap. The room was average clean. Limited parking first come first serve, slim possibility to park your car in the hotel parking. Old TV not enough channels. I do not recommend it.

It really needs renovation. The sound from in between the locked door to adjoining room was unacceptable. We could hear conversations in the next room at normal conversation volume. The carpeting in the hallways was stained in multiple places. Shampooing would likely help, but my guess is that the stains have been there for months.

Our room was nice, but the hotel didn’t have air conditioning. The carpet is in poor shape and hall is slanted. The whole place could use a little love. The location is perfect, which makes it worth the stay.

The hotel is very dated. The room smelled like an old man’s room. Bathrooms were clean, but I failed to read that there was no elevator or air-conditioning . Luckily the fan kept us cool but the second room we reserved had no air-conditioning and they could not sleep the windows don’t stay up. It’s so unfortunate. What a great location great restaurant Downstairs can’t they . to change the carpet at least

Great location, walk to beach or everywhere in town and more! Bed was very comfortable, hotel is old but spacious and parking can be a challenge, they have a parking lot but not enough spots for all guests so a couple of nights we were on the street but it worked out😎

Classic hotel in a convenient location close to everything there is to enjoy in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. Only complaints were that rooms don’t have coffee makers and stair carpeting in lobby off Ocean Avenue should be replaced.

I go a room with a view of the ocean, but there was construction going on so I couldn’t open my window during the day because I was not comfortable with the construction going on and because of the scaffolding. And the scaffolding was in the way of the view.

Location was great and staff was friendly. Our only concern was the room we had was slanted and there was a gap at the top and bottom of our door, so we didn't have a lot of privacy and could hear everything from the hallway.

Possible Shortage of parking but room was comfortable. Staff excellent and helpful with exception of one desk clerk: all others were helpful . Little noisy at night in my hallway but that was due to rude guests and not the fault of the hotel staff. I like that it was walking distance of the beach. The hotel is charming.
