Shortly after checking into our room, multiple fingernails were found on the floor and bed, even though the bed was made. A hair was found in the bathroom, which can easily happen and not a cause for too much concern but, upon closer inspection, hair clippings were found on the floor surrounding the toilet and next to the tub. One can assume what part of the body those came from. The room was very disappointing from a cleanliness standpoint. These issues were brought to the front desk and were quickly remedied. The woman working the desk was very helpful and accommodating and offered us an upgraded room to make our stay more comfortable. This new room was cleaner and put us more at ease during our stay. The only critique of the upgraded room, and also applicable to our original room, is that it was very dated. Overall, the front desk staff was awesome but the hotel is in desperate need of updates, renovations, and a higher standard for housekeeping. Next time we'll be looking at a different hotel.

The hotel was fine overall but definitely showing its age. The carpet in the hallways is rippling and could be a tripping hazard. There were a couple of weddings during our stay, so it was very busy and quite loud at times. The bar doesn’t open until 3 PM, which was a little disappointing. The downtown St. Paul area has a lot of homeless activity, so I’d recommend taking an Uber to get around.

The bathroom was gross and had crud built up in corners of the room. The bedsheets smelled weird. The hallway carpet (floor 16) was bubbling (?) as if there was previous water damage that wasn’t properly fixed.

The front desk staff was amazing, helpful for parking etc. She was awesome. Room was small, smelled of smoke. Over looked a ballroom which was noisy as they were having a wedding or something. Area outside had many people loitering throughout the day and night. Made us feel uneasy to walk places. Ubers were easy to catch though.

We prepaid for 2 rooms. Only 1 was ready when we arrived so we checked into 1 room and put all our bags in there and then went t a concert. When we came back at 1am they had given our other room away that we had already paid for in full. You cannot put 4 grown adults in 1 king size bed. We then had to cancel our other room and find hotel rooms an hour south of St. Paul because everything was sold out. The rooms were already paid for before we even arrived and they gave 1 room away with no notification so we had nowhere to sleep and they wouldn't even help us find another room anywhere else. Terrible service. We checked into a hotel in Rochester at 3am. I am terribly disappointed in DoubleTree and this issue

It was perfectly normal, if you needed a place for an overnight stay like I had, then it will do the job. The beds were soft and comfortable, the staff was nice, and unlike some other hotels in the area, the security deposit/parking fee wasn't outrageous. However, everything else wasn't great. First, the bathroom was extremely small, the toilet is pressed against the sink, and the shower felt dirty. You only get like 40 channels, only maybe 10 were popular channels. Plus, the tv remote barely worked. You can hear if someone is in the hall talking as the walls are thin as hell. Breakfast was 22$ for a buffet, but 22$ per person seems way to expensive. Pool was small and smelled horrible. Gym looked nice though!! A lot of construction nearby which was a pain to get through.
