Pleasant cottage

My stay was brief but pleasant. The town is quiet and very pretty. Be sure to get your key access code before you arrive in Millmont, because cellular data is spotty once you arrive. I had not received the code before I arrived, and had to drive out of town to find a few bars on my cell phone in order to contact the owner. Cottage is pleasant but quite small, especially the bathroom. AC and WiFi worked well. I wish they had raked the lawn before I arrived, because there were grass clippings all over and they got tracked everywhere.

If I could give them 3.5 stars I would but I cannot give them 4

First of all, I was going cheap on the stay since my kid was at Camp Woodward for the week. I specifically picked this location due to the short drive to the camp if something happened to my kid. That being said, you get what you pay for when it comes to price and location. This location was $50/night give or take a few bucks. I am 6'2" and somewhere between 230-240#, this location is small I knew this going in, the bathroom is tiny maybe 7 x 3 total space. If you have to sit on the throne, take comfort in the padded seat I know I did! The water, once turned on has a peculiar smell to it but I cannot put my finger on it. It could be rust in the pipes as evidenced by the permanently stained drain area under the spigot and the murky water from the kitchen sink. I will give the owners kudos here as they left a couple of bars of Irish Spring for use and I am thankful for that. The shower head is well mounted, remember I am a tall guy. The size of the shower is snug, I had to take care when turning to not hit my elbows and shoulders but all in all the shower does the job. There is a vent fan that works well but once you pull the chain it never shuts off, so you gotta pull the chain taut, then weave it through the grate to keep it off and closed. The fridge is full size and came with a dozen eggs and a box of Nellie's hard boiled eggs, I put these to use and thank them for providing it. The bed is a full and is in the back of the shed, this is what you are in by the way and could use a mattress upgrade. I was there from Sun - Sat and only had one good night of sleep. The description says they have internet but this is not true, I did find the router and followed the directions but could only get one bar of service on the left side of the bed and only when my left arm was on the bed and the phone held up in the air. The interaction with the owner was pretty bad, we lost power one night and since there is no welcome folder/book or anything, I had no way of contacting anyone. There is a Dollar General about a mile away for incidentals and I highly recommend spending some time at the Rusty Rail in Mifflinburg for food and craft brews.

Uninhabitable

I left the property after two nights. I notified the owner but have not received a reply. While the property met the physical description of the listing, I found it uninhabitable due to the putrid smell of the water from all outlets. I had to brush my teeth and wash from bottled water. I hoped it might clear up with a day or two of usage but there was no improvement. The smell permeated the air to the extent that I could not remain inside. I have expressed the hope for a two-night refund but have not heard from the owner.

Bare nessacities, good for one person, good for short stay

Thankful to have found a place to stay. Country setting, free of noise, 25 min drive to hospital for my job. GREAT AC
