We've stayed in many five star properties, this was not one of them. We arrived late at night and noticed strong artificial fragrances from multiple plug-in air fresheners, as well as an ozone generator running in the living room. The next morning, it became apparent that these were likely being used to mask lingering odors of cigarette and marijuana smoke. Many items in the home, including pillows, bedsheets, and towels also carried a noticeable smoky smell. I notified the host and they only assistance offered was more air fresheners.The furniture throughout the rental appeared heavily worn and second hand. For example, the dresser in the master bedroom had visible cigarette burns, and the living room couch was uncomfortable to sit on.Once we began settling in for our week-long stay, we found that each closet contained only three wire hangers, which made it difficult to hang our clothing. Basic supplies, such as facial tissues, were not provided, so we purchased our own. We also planned to use the outdoor grill, but it did not ignite on its own and there was no lighter available. Additionally, the kitchen did not include dish soap, requiring another trip to the store.In the master bathroom, several maintenance issues were noticeable: a broken toilet paper holder, a rusted mirror, a bathroom light that flickered and did not operate consistently, and no place to hang a towel.The most significant issue occurred a couple of days into our stay.
