Nice room but smoke odor intolerable

The smoking was unpleasant. Even on the nonsmoking floor, the cigarette smell was noticeable. Renovation underway so less places to eat. No room service or buffet.

I have a couple things to say. I really appreciate that the Casa Blanca is renovating and adding food options and I'll be glad when they are open. Upon arriving, we booked our room and it was the "free room" (Mon-Thurs reward benefit) and when we reached our room found that it was not a renovated room. Rather like we went back in time on the 5th floor. When we went back to the front desk we were told that if we wanted a new renovated room, we would have to pay the $140 a night. I found a better deal on Expedia so I just booked online myself as we definitely did not want to stay in the old stinky rooms. (I have videos of both rooms if needed). Once we were in the paid nice room, it was very nice. I have to say that they have done a great job updating the property. They are working hard on landscaping and the pool was finally nice and clean again. (5 years ago it was not good). One thing I would like to add is that when I came back to my car in the morning in that parking lot (not in a quiet hidden spot btw) it was obvious that someone decided to have a party on my car during the night. No kidding. seriously gross. So the parking lot is not being monitored well and I have pics of this as well. We will wait until the renovation is done to go back but overall, much better than it used to be.

Problem with room 1049 and 1051 itching and bug bites blood on sheets, reported bug bites to hotel stated they didn’t find bed bugs in 1049. I would not stay there again.

Hotel is very outdated and dirty. The room had thick dust on the curtains, the carpet, lamps, chairs, and bathroom floor. The bed sheets, especially the pillow cases were so wrinkled they felt like washboard. The shower water drained very slowly, so you were standing in a pool of water ankle deep.

Right now, the dining options are few, perhaps because they closed to buffet to make room for new dining spots. The two restaurants that were available are good, but both are small and lines were long at times. The staff is great and the facilities are clean. We enjoyed the free entertainment on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The outside needs some sprucing up (new paint).
