A stylish and recently renovated house, full of light and calm, with stunning views of the Seine and the surrounding lakes and forests. Located in a rural village in the heart of the French countryside and just a short drive from amenities and the train station. 45 minutes from Paris and just over an hour from the coast. Explore nearby Giverny where Monet and the Impressionists painted the bright landscape. A great base for visiting Paris, Rouen, Chartres and Normandy and the sites of the Second World War.
The accommodation
The thoughtful renovation blends the original simple charm of the house with soft modern flowers. Downstairs, a bright living room with open fireplace is adjacent to a separate, concentrated reading room. Both have beautiful views of the Seine. As does a warm bedroom with en-suite bathroom and Italian-style hydromassage shower. A spacious kitchen blends modern and rustic, with new induction hob, double oven and dishwasher. Up the winding wooden staircase, bedroom two has the same south-facing look as the bedrooms on the first floor and on the other side of the landing, a wonderful bathroom with velux windows. On the landing is the washing machine and dryer. From the living room, you can walk onto a small terrace and patio to enjoy meals outside and watch the houseboats and bikes slowly pass by on the river below.
Traveler access
The whole house is accessible to travelers. Across the street, you have the option to park a garage or street parking for one car.
Other remarks
The house has a library with a private collection of books that travelers can read, but they must strictly stay in the house. We ask that food be kept outside the rooms and reading room.
