This hotel is newly renovated, loved the cute decor and amenities. Looks like they are still working on the grounds. Easy to walk to town for dinner and shopping. Deck with ocean view and breakfast were nice additions.

We had a great stay. Quiet, beautiful area a block away from shops and dining. The property was pristine and very nice rooms. The Continental breakfast was a step above the normal, especially the pastries and coffee from a local bakery. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Hill House at Hirsh Trail in Mendocino. It’s pet-friendly and in a fantastic location, just a short walk from downtown, making it easy to explore the town. We loved our room—the design was beautiful, modern, and very comfortable. The complimentary happy hour from 4–5 p.m. was a delightful surprise, and the wine bar was a perfect place to relax in the evening. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel right at home. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mendocino, and if we return, this will absolutely be where we stay again.

Our “Ocean View” room was actually mostly a “Parking Lot” view room. It seemed like we heard every door in the hotel slam between 6:00am and 8:00am. The included breakfast was very disappointing, pretty much yogurt, oranges, and pastries, probably the worst I’ve ever experienced.

Shouldn't be renting out rooms in a hotel that is not completely remodeling. No coffe maker or microwave in room. Refrigerater was very small. Continental breakfast was weak. Not worth the money. This place is amazing! We had a great stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was so nice and so very helpful. The wine and treats they have for sale were perfect for a night in late. They just opened in June, so everything was new and done very well! Love all the little areas to sit and enjoy or just relax. The bikes were so cute and nice that they offer them. Our room was nicely done and very comfortable. They thought of everything. The breakfast was very good and fresh. Love that the hotel is so close to town to walk and enjoy the scenery. We will definitely be back to take advantage of all they have to offer. My favorite is the fire pits in the front of the hotel. Stunning and very comfy. Blankets are available to use and s'mores boxes are available to purchase. They thought of everything! Thank you for taking care of everything and can't wait to return!

Fantastic, brand-spanking-new hotel, even the paint still smells fresh. It seems like they're in a soft-launch phase right now. Staff was very friendly and helpful, room was super comfortable, large, and stylish. Shower heads were nice and high, making the bathroom area seem even more spacious. The room and hotel were fantastically quiet and relaxing. The hotel is an easy walk into town or to the bluffs; great to be able to leave our vehicles behind and just stroll. There were bicycles available which would have been fun too, but we opted to walk. The fire pits outside the entrance were an elegant touch. We weren't fans of the instant coffee in the rooms (vs coffeemaker), but there was excellent fresh coffee in the common area at breakfast. We paid a bit extra for a balcony but the view was of the parking lot and the highway; would choose a west-facing room next time.

We had a great stay overall. It’s a quick walk into town and a quick walk to the ocean to watch the sunset. The grounds are beautiful, although they weren’t done with renovations during our stay, so I’m sure they’ll be even better in a couple of months. The room was very clean with one exception: the shower. Particularly, a HUGE wad of hair was left on the drain and it was disgusting to remove. I also cut my foot on a nail that was sticking out of the carpet near where the carpet meets the tile. I did bleed but thankfully it was a fairly small cut; hurt like heck though. Overall the room was great and the details were well thought out. It was also quite peaceful during our stay because it seems to attract people who are seeking a calm weekend. We didn’t visit any of the common areas other than the lobby, but the lobby was lovely so I imagine the other common areas are as well.

We had a horrible experience at hill house, we got there at 4pm for check in and was told our room wasn’t ready. It ended up not being ready until 4:45. We finally got in the room and my husband suggested checking everything because we felt the clean was rushed. There was hair on one of the pillows and in the bed. We went back to the lobby and they had housekeeping change the bedding. We get in the room and immediately hear sawing, there’s a man working right outside our window. There is no ac so you have to keep the windows open. The next day we head to fort Bragg and get back to relax, as soon as we laid down, we hear the same man that was working the day before drilling and now there is a tractor underneath our other window so at this point, there’s insane amount of noise on both sides of us. We had a corner hotel room. This was around 2 PM. We decided we were just going to go home. Our trip had been ruined and we were just over it. we weren’t even in our hotel room for 24 hours. We stay in Fort Bragg 4 to 5 times a year. This was our first and last time staying in Mendocino.
