Set in such a tranquil, peaceful setting by the abbey and river, the hotel has ample parking and is a great place to relax and take long walks. The staff were friendly and courteous. It was nice to find a hotel offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options for meals. The breakfast was delicious.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, the food and drink was great, The only downside is the guest room that we stayed in was quite dated and the floor creaked all over as did the adjacent rooms floors so was noisy to move around in.

This is a splendid old house, bang next to Dryburgh Abbey, which is a magical place. The hotel has character, the staff are lovely, and the rooms large, if a little old-fashioned. The bed was very comfortable. Only the food in the restaurant-bar was slightly disappointing, particularly as one of us is vegetarian, which made the choice very limited. We would still love to return.

Fantastic location with 11 acres, river in grounds and Abbey ruins next door. Had dinner in restaurant which was excellent as was breakfast the next day. Used as a stop off for one night from Aberdeenshire to the midlands and same price as well known hotel chains. An issue with bed on arrival but sorted out by receptionist promptly.

Good size room with a private bathroom and a lovely view. Free parking and access to the River Tweed for Trout fishing. Excellent evening meal and conscientious staff. Plenty of choice for a continental breakfast and a selection of cooked breakfast options. Very pleasant surroundings and with access to Dryburgh Abbey ruins albeit for an admission fee. You can walk along the river Tweed by walking out of the main gates and turning left to enjoy a circular walk. Would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely hotel and its surroundings, it is very peaceful and tranquil!

Drove 200 miles arrived at 9pm to be told that the only food option was crisps or peanuts! Would not even offer and sandwich. The following morning I waited for 20 minutes without service for breakfast! Left and visited a local coffee shop.

A fantastic location and great staff, unfortunately the property needs an overhaul, tired and under maintained rooms and bathrooms made it an uncomfortable stay. The property felt like it just fell in from the 1960’s, including the internet, I spent 2 nights there for business, however, I couldn’t hence hold video conference calls as the WiFi was at best non-existent…!

I would have expected a bit more of this hotel. The rooms vary quite a bit in terms how well maintained they are. Furniture can be worn a bit. The staff is largely made up of young local boys and girls. They are super friendly and very attentive. Despite being more or less on a holiday job they are very professional and rather sweet. The site of the hotel is wonderful and very quiet. Guest who travel over the summer should know though that there is no airconditioning and that windows cannot really be opened.
