I was lucky to get a room with hard wood floors. The employees are very kind and the room was okay. The new bedding is white. I'm not sure how long it's been used, but it makes you think it might be cleaner. It makes you itch, though. The bathroom had very low water pressure and little roaches came out in the evening. I watched them crawl in the bathroom and go back into the walls around the closet. The last time I stayed, over a year ago, I was there a week and did not see a single roach. It's the Rio Grande Valley, though, and it gets unbelievably hot for most of the year (110-114 degrees) and all the palm trees attract roaches. So, this place may just need to be sprayed for bugs more often. If they invest in caulking the gaps between the floor boards and walls AND they replace the crusted shower fixtures, this place would absolutely get 4 stars. Due to the roaches that I saw both nights, I have to say 3... and almost 2 because of that. :/
* To feel better here, I recommend taking your own top sheet and blanket. I'm not sure why the bedding made me itch. I do not believe bed bugs were the problem. I think it was just the quality of the top blanket. After several washes, blankets need to be replaced. So, either they have been washed a lot or they haven't been washed in a long time. Take your own to feel at peace.
