A pleasant surprise on our journey east. Found this treasure on a whim. Looking for a non-chain, hometown restaurant to get some dinner while on the road. Ended up making this spot our hotel for the night, too! Food was tasty. Service was friendly. Rooms were very charming. Prepare yourself for the loud engines racing by on a Sunday morning though. The hotel has no control over this, but the locals could learn to do better.

The Meadows Hotel was a delight. This old hotel, circa 1901, was brought back to life about 10 years ago. This is a small "boutique" hotel with 14 rooms .The rooms were quaint, as was the hotel lobby. Modern amenities such as TV, internet, elevator were in place. There is a nice bar and a good restaurant on premises. The entire staff made us feel welcomed. As a plus, I really enjoyed all the old photos of the hotel and town hanging on all the walls.

I would have given a higher rating but our room was on street level so there was a lot of noise early in the morning. In all fairness, I was told about the problem with street noise but chose to keep the room instead of switching. If I were to stay again, I’d choose a different room. Other than that, this was a very nice place to stay for a quick overnight stay.
