## Emplacement
Originally called Melgueil, the city of Mauguio was an important county town during the Middle Ages. Amputated of some of its districts in the middle of the 19th century to create the city of Palavas-les-Flots, it is today an important tourist site of the region appreciated particularly for its beaches.
