My husband and I stayed at the Richmond hotel for two nights. It’s in a great location, and the rooms were reasonably priced and clean. The staff were really kind, and helped organise luggage forwarding to our next hotel. Our only bugbear was that we could hear other people on the floor - they were pretty loud. It would be great to have had a little more sound proofing.

Perfect hotel for a stay in Matsumoto, parking is next to the hotel, rooms are large by Japanese standards and the cafe on the ground floor has a very varied breakfast for Y1200... you may have to wait a bit to get a table as it's popular.

Hotel is about 6 min walk to the station. Close to the 2 tourist streets, shrine, castle. Pretty well can walk to all the main tourist attractions

Perfect location for visiting Matsumoto. Close to the station and the Castle. Seems its right in the midst of town surrounded by a variety of dining options. Service is top notch. Staff is very friendly too!

Lovely and comfortable hotel in city centre.

Nice solid hotel in great central location. Room was quite small and very firm mattress. Like the idea of eco friendly cleaning options - where you can select if you want your room to be fully cleaned or just bed made and towels changed to save water. Didn’t have a chance as stayed only one night but this is right approach!
