Trip to Marseille

Ive come to Marseille to visit my friend. For my stay, I wanted a hotel tjat was quite close to Saint Charles station and was an affordable proce. I booked Ibis via hotel.com and it disappoint. I arrived in the evening. The receptionist was very friendly , spoke good english and was very helpful. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat offering cereals, toast, pastries, coffee and juices. I would definitely recommend this hotel. *5 all the way!

Great Location

Great location. Metro station just a short walk away which takes you straight to train station. Bus takes you straight to beach and Olympic site in other direction. Great restaurants nearby; we used Namaste; Wasabi; Le Caucase and all were great. Small convenience shop right opposite the hotel and big market just around corner. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast nothing special but included in price and certainly adequate. Worthy of note, the breakfast staff kept the supplies constantly well-stocked and very clean. Room and bathroom adequate and clean, although the bathroom was quite small and in need of a little attention. We were on 6th floor and room was very quite. Air-conditioning much appreciated as temperature was in the 30s.

Less than 5 minutes from metro station. Only a couple of metro stops to the velodrome stadium. Staff are friendly and decent Parisian breakfast. Pretty good for free breakfast deal and under $100

Room on 7th floor (under roof) too warm to sleep comfortably and very, very small, ca. 5 SQM. Great location with amenities, Metro, two 24x7 bakeries, cinema, Basilica (Catholic), Kunz pressing (dry cleaners), authentic small market 4x per week, all within walking distance!

Booked a double room, it was comfortable enough for one short woman. The shower fixture needs replacing and wouldn't be comfortable for anyone taller than 5.9. Bed was nice. Pretty good location.

Great value, good breakfast

Stayed only one night en route to Cassis. Called hotel twice as flight delayed to say we would be really late to check. Lady very nice, said had our booking and her colleague would look after us. Was midnight when we finally got there and reception insisted we must pay, even though I said it was pre paid. It all got sorted in the morning with apologies . Breakfast good

Poor air con spoilt visit

O.k but not really better than a normal ibis. Rooms seemed to have gad a refurb job to make them look better but it was a relatively cheap job. Breakfast limited-but good irange juice. Close to Metro. Air con very poor. It was not a hot night, yet still air con failed to cool room to any extent. No desk space - a major failing. Overall ok and staff pleasant enough but wouldn’t necessarily go back. Having said that, much better than b and b hotel for same price

Very pleased with our choice . Freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast. Water, tea,coffee complementary all day. The only bad point was the air con in the room wasn’t great at all, we were too hot.

Budget friendly clean hotel

Budget friendly hotel- not in the most salubrious area but only 200 m from main metro stop and less than that from major road. Rooms are compact but clean ;Breakfast was adequate but we knew that before we booked. Great if you are looking for somewhere with easy connections to the main tourist spots but do not want to pay premium prices. Friendly reception despite our lack of French language. Only downside was that it was quite noisy outside from traffic etc.

Good hotel at a good price for central Marseille

Comfortable but basic. Rooms are a little on the small side but adequate. Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Good choice of food at breakfast (French style). Location excellent, 5 mins walk from Metro, lots of local restaurants, cafes, etc. Area is quite noisy but the double glazed windows plus roller blinds meant that when closed you can hardly hear it.
