Could have been 5 stars but faults in the rooms let it down. The actual hotel staff were excellent and it’s a pretty cool hotel with lovely ambience and clever an unusual room design. The kitchenette was incredible. So why did it lose two stars? Well, we had to move rooms when we came in from a night out as it stank of drains. This was after midnight when all we wanted was to go to bed, so didn’t actually get to bed until an hour later. The design of the replacement room wasn’t as good either, you couldn’t watch tv in bed as it was in the kitchen area (you could in the first room), also the remote didn’t work so actually, we couldn’t watch it at all. The staff gave us a complimentary breakfast as an apology and it was outstanding, couldn’t fault it at all. If you stay there, you must have breakfast there, fresh ingredients, attentive service and very tasty …from someone who rarely eats breakfast! I would try again, but my husband isn’t so keen sadly & with so many hotels to choose from, it’s unlikely.
