We really enjoyed our stay in Malmö at Hotel Mortensen. They have recently changed parent companies and are now part of Best Western. The breakfast is wonderful. The staff is very nice and rooms are nice, as well. The building is very old, which adds charm and character to the hotel.

it was great staying at this hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, people who works at breakfast table were awesome . only negative part was tv and hotel does not offer cable tv, i was hoping to see the CNN. other than that everything was what i wished ot be.

Great hotel in Malmo.

Great hotel smack in the middle of central Malmo. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast buffet which was included was fantastic. I will be back!

convenient location and charming interior

Our room was really clean, spacious and beautiful, decorated in the style of late 1890's. Windows had excellent insulation, and the room was really quiet, even though the hotel faces the main shopping/restaurant area. Kettle isn't provided in the room, but this isn't a problem, because really good quality coffee (and hot beverages in general) is provided 24/7 for free in the restaurant. Bed really comfortable with fresh clean linen. The heating wasn't on, so with the high ceilings the room was a bit cold, but they provided us with a heater. My only slight criticism would be that I requested a room with a bath, but got one with a shower. One of the receptionists was rude at one point, but in general staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast consisted of good quality foods, and was nicely laid out.

Simple and well-located

This was perfect hotel for one night. We had to check out before breakfast (6:30am), which was unfortunate for us. The room was large for the price and the location couldn't have been better. It is not the most modern hotel, but was clean and comfortable—a good value overall. There was a bit of noise from the street with the windows open, but not excessive and to be expected, given the central location. Everything in central Malmö was an easy walk, including the central train station (with direct service to CPH airport every 10 minutes).

Great value & super hotel!

Perfect location in central Malmö. Easy walk from the train station. Helpful & friendly staff. Great breakfast & all in all a perfect stay. Was a bit noisy (from the street) on Saturday night but only because we had all the windows open because the weather was so hot! Highly recommend this hotel.

Overall decent but there are things to watch out

I’ll start with the good. The hotel is located right in the very heart of downtown Malmo. Restaurants and fine dining of all sorts within 2min walking distance. The staff was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is included and the food selection was very good and the dining area was very cozy. The room was clean and comfortable. The not-so-good. The first big letdown for me was the fact that the hotel does not have its own parking. It came as a shock to me when my navigation system suddenly said: that’s it, you have to walk from here - when I was about 300 m from the hotel! I had to call the hotel when they told me that I am supposed to find parking on my own. The closest parkade was about 250m away and it cost me about €28 for the night. I can’t blame the hotel for not having their own parking, but I think it should be made very clear on their booking page on Expedia, so keep that in mind if you’re arriving by car. Second: the single room that I had originally booked turned out to have a small window which was facing a dark wall and was almost completely blocked by some horrendously looking industrial pipe. You had to have the lights turned on all the time otherwise it would be dark. I asked for a different room, but the girl at the reception explained that apparently all single rooms were like that which is why she said they were “so cheap”. I had to upgrade to a double room for an extra €20, which was much nicer.

"Old World" hotel right in city centre

We stayed for 6 nights at this hotel. It was very good value for the price paid and staff were very friendly and helpful. An excellent breakfast was provided and was included in the cost of the room. Hotel guests were always welcome downstairs where tea, coffee and hot chocolate was always available.

Really liked this hotel. Everything was simple and well made. The staff wasn’t really knowledgeable but none the less kind. The hotel served a very good breaksfast in the morning and the location is excellent!

Comfortable old-world hotel in the heart of Malmö.

I've stayed at Hotel Mortensen on a few trips. I like that it's in the centre of the old town, close to cafés that I like, and near restaurants, galleries and the shopping district. The spacious, warm hotel rooms have an old-world charm that's not too fussy, but a nice difference to more minimalist modern hotels. Breakfasts are great and the dining area is very comfortable. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The hotel is only about 10 minutes walk (bag-drag) from the Central Station in dry weather and 15 minutes in snow.
