I am sorry to give this rating, but in my opinion the hotel does not meet a 3-star standard overall. Please don’t get me wrong—the hotel itself is charming, and I appreciate the antique furniture and decorations that come with an older building. However, the cleanliness was below expectation. The bathroom items appeared worn and not well maintained, there was thick dust on the light fixtures, and the slippery mat was yellowed and unhygienic. I sincerely hope the management will consider upgrading the facilities, especially by replacing old bathroom mats and carrying out a more thorough cleaning, to better match the hotel’s potential.

The hotel rooms are old, room toilet the water tap should repair & the 3rd floor corridor was filled with the smell of an old toilet. But overall average still okay. Staff are friendly & helpful. Location is very good.

This charming hotel in the heart of Chinatown launches you back in history with its period furniture and ambience. Its location is close to the Jonker Street Night Market on the weekends and is within walking distance of many of the major tourist attractions and areas. If you arrive on the weekend, you may need to take a taxi with a driver who knows how to avoid the road closures; Grab would not accept rides. The breakfast buffet is ample with a mix of Asian and Western options. We opted to use the spa, which was a relaxing and pleasurable experience. The facilities are well kept, combining modern and historic. They could improve their commitment to environmental sustainability, such as offering water dispensers and refillable toiletry dispensers instead of using plastic bottles. The hotel did receive a bus load of mainland Chinese tourists, who were quite loud in the hallways and breakfast area. Although this is not the fault of the hotel staff, if they could have emphasized speaking softly and minimizing the noise level for the courtesy of all guests, it may have helped.

Location wise, it can’t be any better but the condition of the room and bathroom is rather old. The overall cleanliness can be improved. There were signs that the showering area wasn’t exactly scrubbed down after each guest leaves.

This hotel is absolutely wonderful. I wasn't going to book it as I don't stay in 3 star hotels but glad I did - as the hotel is fantastic. The level of customer service was noticeably excellent. Easily a higher 4 star hotel. There's a lot of history about this hotel and it's owner. I recommend taking the time to research it. 100% recommended to stay here during your trip to Melaka. Thank you to all the brilliant hard working staff in the hotel.

Room was a little too small for my liking but it was clean. I wish they offer herbal teas such as chamomile and mint instead of regular tea.
nice Xmas touches in the lobby. Lovely Peranakan pieces in the public areas. The poor lighting and layout didn't do justice to the Peranakan theme. They need a professional interior designer to decorate with proper lighting.

Jonker is round the corner

Price is on the high side SGD85/ night. Room is small, abt 15-17sqm. Can get cheaper ones in town near the shopping malls. However, nonya deco is a plus point & Jonker is round the corner.
