We chose this hotel based on our desired location - Atocha - because of our interest in culture and history and we wanted a cozy place to go home to after excursions. It did not disappoint! As soon as we stepped into the hotel we felt right at home. It wasn’t just the aesthetic - clean, relaxing and restful; it was the people. Vanessa, who checked us in was genuinely pleased to welcome us. She was as amiable as she was efficient. The rest of the staff, who unfortunately we didn’t get to know, were helpful, thoughtful and had genuine smiles. We appreciated the small stuff like cookies with your coffee. The room was just the right size for cozy and efficient in its layout, and most importantly, spotless. Their rules and practices attested to their eco-friendliness; I especially appreciated the non-smoking rule. The breakfast spread was varied enough to cater to specific requirements though the bacon could be improved on. Atocha was indeed the best neighbourhood for us as it allowed us to systematically explore exactly what we wanted, where we wanted. If I could, I would definitely return to SleepNAtocha.

The staff was very accommodating, with the luggage and with calling us when the room was ready (we arrived early) they provide free coffee, tea, soft drinks. The rooms are extremely small and you hear everything. Convenience location and nice and friendly staff!!

The rooms are tiny — there’s literally nowhere to put a suitcase. You open the door and basically have to fall straight onto the bed. On the positive side, the location is great: close to the main museums and Atocha train station. However, there are definitely other hotels in the area that are even cheaper and offer more space
