This hotel is a great option for budget minded travelers. The location is within walking distance to many major attractions and even Atocha station is only about a 12 minute walk downhill. The rooms are very small, which is fine but also can get very noisy. The walls don’t seem to be well insulated. So if you are a light sleeper or someone who is an early to bed kind of person it may not suit you. The front clerks were all very nice. I found the precheck in to be quite a nuisance. Never had to do that before, hopefully never have to do it again.

Some of my dissatisfaction was due to the room. It was right near the entrance door so there was slamming and loud conversation throughout the night. Water running through pipes could be heard. We had an especially loud girl in the room never to us on the first night. The staff ranged from very professional to less so in interactions.

Room was clean but the walls were thin. We could hear the neighbors easily. Upstairs was jumping and walking heavily and at 6am people were already talking and walking back and forth in the hallways.

I look for three things when staying abroad - hotel location, staff helpfulness and room cleanliness. This checks all the boxes. Breakfast was included. I don’t recall it being an add-on, be well worth it!

Clean rooms, very helpful staff. Breakfast area very small and limited supply of eggs. Walls are thin so you can hear everything from other rooms. The television did not work neither did the phone when trying to call front desk.

The property is an old style looking building so it’s perfect if you are looking for the full Madrid ambience experience. The rooms are very small and rustic. But they are very clean and they make the best to make it as lovely as possible. I loved the balcony over looking the street. It was perfect for the experience. The breakfast is in a small building next door. I recommend going for breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30. It’s the only time when it’s peaceful. Otherwise you might have to wait in line outside. Overall I have no complains. The location is perfect, the service was great, the rooms were as described and everything worked without a problem. Reception is on the second floor. So don’t get scared when you get there and there is just a close door. Press the intercom and they will let you in.
