Pennyrile State Park Resort was a fortuitous find while seeking accommodations when our son was in a basketball tournament in Madisonville. The room, main lodge and restaurant were extremely clean and comfortable. There are so many things to do, including 9 or 18 holes on the golf course and fishing or canoe/ kayak on the 56 acre lake. Other activities include mini-golf, basketball and tennis courts and an outdoor pool. Would have loved it if the coffee were stronger (suggestion: 1 cup Keurig makers in the rooms) but the food at the restaurant was very tasty with many choices. If we ever return to this area of Kentucky, we will happily stay here again!

Property is beautiful. Checking in was a disaster. Restaurant was mediocre at best. Breakfast was a horrible experience. Kept moving to different rooms every morning. Had dry cereal but no milk. Waffle maker but no butter for waffles. Only had orange juice and/or apple juice. On one of the three days. Powdered eggs and sausage were cold every day.
