Was told when we checked in that coffee would be ready by 7 am . Went down twice no coffee had to call to get them to make coffee and they sounded annoyed that they had to do it . Other than that the place was pretty good. Need to be a little more prompt about getting that done especially when you tell people a time.

The room was very big and very clean. We decided to stay here on a trip to the UP of Michigan. We have stayed at this Hotel multiple timea now. This is the hotel where we stayed when we got engaged just after they opened while on a casino trip. The only "negative" was no breakfast but the did have discount tickets for breakfast at some local restaurants.

The Super 8 was a 10 for convenience and location. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was not much but that is a minor issue compared to the value and convenience near the Mackinac Bridge and shore of Lake Huron. There are two Super 8 hotels in Mackinaw and this one is the one nearest the bridge.

Did not like this property at all. We chose this property based on the website & being pet friendly. When checking in, the woman informed me it would be $50 for the pet fee. I told her that we have travelled a lot with our 2 small dogs and have never paid that much. In fact, had only paid a $15 fee the night before at a different property. She then proceeded to give me the total bill and said it was $50 per dog. I about dropped my teeth! I was about to tell her we would not be staying, when her coworker stepped in and corrected her - it was $50 for both dogs. I told him I thought that was still high. He told me the owner had raised the price because he had just put in new carpet. When they told me where our room was, I asked about an elevator since we had luggage & was told there was not one in our building. Thank goodness it was only 2 floors! When we got to our room, we were disappointed to see how small & dingy it was! I would suggest to the owner they should not only replace the carpet, but clean up the mildew in the shower, invest in nicer sinks, update the furniture, fix the plugs, put in better lighting, etc. All in all, would definitely not recommend this place!!!

Rather outdated and some parts of the hotel definitely shows it. Plus they added an additional tax fee on top of what I reserved the room for by an additional $10. Over priced but that’s because of the tourist area and how the local hotel chains take advantage of travelers
