Lovely friendly staff, food could've been warmer, shouldn't allow dogs in the dning room
Very nice hotel in a beautiful part of the world.
Breakfast was good, but didn't get a chance to sample dinner.

Half Way House
Family trip 2 adults 2 children. Stayed in a family room, nice enough for us and did the job.
Dining area of the property and bar area very nice look and feel.
Good location to another pub 5 minutes up the road as well.
We stayed one night in a family room. Our daughter’s bed was absolutely tiny and very poor condition. It was a tiny one seat sofa bed and the mattress was very thin. Daughter complained she could feel the spring of the mattress as it was so thin. Our bed for myself and husband was great. It was a super king four poster bed. Room itself was clean but very dated. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was ok but only one type of coffee from a dispenser. No cappucino or latte on offer.
This is is 2nd time I’ve stopped here within the past few months. We come here this time for my daughter’s 18th birthday. We booked the garden party room plus 2 extra rooms for all of our guests to stay. All of our guests enjoyed the stay and will come back again. The most important thing is my daughter had an 18th birthday to remember.
Can’t grumble at all. We didn’t eat at the hotel, so can’t comment on that. The bedroom was very clean and tidy. The bed was so comfortable. The hotel is a little dated, but we’d happily stop her again.
Lovely hotel, everyone was very welcoming and accommodating of our two year old. The young lady that served us in the restaurant on Friday evening and Saturday lunchtime was especially lovely to us.
It smelt. The key card wouldnt work. The sink was chipped, the carpet was ripped. The bathroom was dirty. The furniture was covered in dust. We paid 128 pounds for 1 night. Ive taken pictures because the bathroom floor would have been dangerous for a child. It had all sharp off cuts.
Dirty the dust in the room was an actual joke, the staff were rude (except lady who checked us in) waited over half hour for the buffet to be replenished for breakfast, ended up with no breakfast as had to leave before they replenished - would not stay again and I’m not fussy but was a poor stay
Really impressive building, architecturally fully of history. Lovely, welcoming and super hospitable and respectful staff. A bit of a family feel to the place. Warm, comfy, spacious and great shower. Super accommodating of dogs with treats, bowls and bins. Dogs even permitted in the restaurant! I didn’t try the restaurant but breakfast menu looked lovely. In terms of value for money - excellent. Highly recommend.
A hidden gem away from the huzzle & buzzle of modern life (traffic, noise, work,) just peaceful break

Hotel seems to suffer from lack of staff. Waited over an hour to be served for dinner although apology came in the form of complimentary meal/drink. Breakfast equally challenged and coffee was highly unpleasant. Staff were very sweet but challenged. Bed was very comfortable
