Good accomodation, clean and comfortable if a bit tight on space. Superb food.
Bedroom very clean and big shower room with complimentary toiletries and fresh towels replaced during stay.
Fresh bottled water and beverage making facilities in room also restocked.
All staff cheerful and helpful.
Good choice of breakfast and well cooked to order
Can be a little tight to park when pub busy but didn't have a problem and our room was at front of Inn and would see ponies and cows wander by ...
Great place for walking in forest ,would happily return....
We had an amazing time in the New Forest ! The New Forest inn pub was lovely, they made us feel so welcome, the food and atmosphere was fantastic . The pub is clean and the rooms are lovely.
Greeted by a nice lady in the pub. Stairs to room quite narrow and steep but room very nice and modern. Large TV, nice tea tray with biscuits, nice toiletries to use. Two fans in the room were useful.
Shower very good and bed comfortable too.
Breakfast very good, nice bacon, sausage and eggs, cereal if wanted, toast, tea and coffee. All good!
Went for a walk behind the hotel in the morning and saw some horses grazing.
Smack bang in the middle of the New Forest itself, it would have been criminal of me not to explore the surrounding wooded areas as part of a long walk. My room was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The shower helped wash away the day's labors but the bed could have been more comfortable. I dined there on the evening which was ok but for breakfast, the eggs were undercooked and the bacon cooked to the point that you could only identify it via its fingertips. All in all, I would look to stay here again but would perhaps dine elsewhere.
When I first turned up and was taken to the room I was a bit concerned that it would be a bit shabby, the hallway smells and the carpet is filthy, thankfully the bedroom was really nice.
Lovely pub and my dinner was good. The girl checking me in was really friendly and helpful. The thing that really let my stay down was my bedroom was above the kitchen and the noise was terrible. I really wanted an early night but it felt like I was sleeping in the kitchen, the noise went on until 11.30pm. For that reason I would never stay again whilst working as it's too noisy.
Riding in the New Forest on the way back from Exmoor. The room was bomfortable and the food good both evening meal and breakfast, Would stay again. Nice New Forest location.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
OK, place could do with a little tlc.
Rooms are at the top of an awful looking manky staircase, which didn't bode well, but the room was clean. It was small and very hot due to no a/c and warm weather. The common area/hal desperately needs refreshing.
Breakfast was OK. Overall, it feels a bit like it needs some tlc.
The food at the Inn was really good and that is bother evening meal and the breakfast. The room was a little bit tight for a large person. The Location was superb .
Lovely pub and room, overall it was fantastic, the staff really make it what it is!!.
If i had to moan, queen size bed was 2 tiny singles pushed together. And my side sloped down to the floor and it would be nice if the juice at breakfast was chilled. Howeverbreakfast and food in general was very good. Would definitely return
If you're looking for 5 star sterile environment this is not for you. When booking on line your'e never sure what you will walk into.As soon as we set foot through the door we knew we had made the right decision. New Forest Inn steeps in atmosphere, 18th century beautiful country pub in the heart of the New Forest, even the ponies were there outside to welcome us.
The staff were amazing as was the food.
Bedroom a little quirky...we loved it, extremely clean throughout.
We will certainly be back, hopefully autumn to this most wonderful establishment!
Lovely place, however we stayed there in the heatwave & the fan provided sadly didn’t help. The room was very hot think having the kitchen extra fan sadly outside the window didn’t help, just like sleeping in a sauna there was hardly any breeze coming through the window .I appreciate the staff could do nothing about the very hot weather. It was cool in the bar & beautiful garden
This is a pub with a difference, a traditional old New Forest Inn with interesting decor. Also charming New Forest ponies visit daily and stand and watch while you have a beer.
All the staff are friendly and happy and provide great service, nothing seemed too much trouble. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries.
Situated in the heart of the forest just outside Lyndhurst (20 min walk away) its extremely peaceful.
The food on offer is high end pub grub with a few specials thrown in and you certainly won't go hungry. The breakfast selection is very good and the New Forest Breakfast will last you all day, no matter how far you're going to walk.
We stayed 2 nights and would have stayed longer if we could.
Highly recommended however bear in mind this is an old pub with rooms not a swanky 5 star hotel, but the people who work there warrant that rating.
