Sadly our room had no hot water, not even warm. Our friend who stayed a level lower, said after 15 minutes letting the water run, she had luke warm water. The phone in our room also was in not working codition. The room smelled heavily of mildew and you could see how the wallpaper is coming off. The bathroom floor was not really clean but The bed was super comfortable. And a nice feature is that there is a microwave and a fridge with freezer inside the room. We called it in the night we stayed,(with our cellphone, due to the room phone was not working) And the lady sad it is normal to leave the water running for at least 15 minutes to get warm water. The amount of wasted water and the water bill for the owners must be horrendous. Beside that everbody who worked there was very nice and friendly. The location is fantastic.

Absolutely disgusting hotel. Original room was filthy and full of black mold from the furniture to the carpet including the vents. bathroom had pink mold. I was switched to 3 different rooms. All of the rooms were in the same condition. We refused to stay and had to book a different hotel. Definitely unsafe. Only good thing i can say is the staff was extremely nice and accommodating and tried everything in their power to give me a better experience.

We've stayed here before and understand what condition the hotel is in. We stay here for overnight trips because the price is right. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. This time, the shower in our room didn't work. We made do and informed the front desk attendant when we checked out. The attendant just said that she'd let maintenance know. We expected an apology of some sort and gratitude for letting them know. Just total lacking of basic customer service.

Door lock was not functioning properly. Told front desk first day and did nothing about it. Every time we came back to hotel we needed to get new room keys because our old ones were deactivated. Carpet was disgusting and dirty. Hotel’s website said they had a pool and exercise room, but looked like the pool had been out of service for years and no access to exercise room. breakfast was a joke. The bananas were all bruised, and the apples were bruised. Selection was slim to nothing. AC front panel was broken and crooked. The luggage carts were old and filthy. when we asked for more towels, we instructed we had to come down to the lobby and get them. When you walked in the hotel, the lobby looked pretty good, but past the lobby was run down at old.

It has potential, but very old. Had old smells. Shower was hot. Room was clean. Hallway smelled. Tried to call front desk. No one answered. Maybe they were busy. Skimpy on towels & soap items. Breakfast was a grab n go type breakfast but I thought descent for what we paid for room.

We like to take road trips and stay at older hotels that have character, and we thought that this hotel in Lynchburg might be a good example. There is tremendous potential at this hotel, but sadly, it is not yet met. The lobby was just as nice as the picture shows, but the rest of the hotel has seen better days. I think that is why we gave low scores - the hotel was clearly once a very nice location, but seems like is has not seen significant maintenance in decades. (The same might be said of all of downtown Lynchburg, but I digress) The good news is that the linens were clean. The bathtub drain tended to back up while you used the shower. The main elevators were out of service and we had to go through some dilapidated staff areas to use the service elevator. There is no dining at the hotel, and we found only a few options of any sort within walking distance. We had to drive out of Lynchburg for a nice dinner. The hotel breakfast was also limited, so we passed and drove to a Cracker Barrel as we left Lynchburg.
